I still hold onto hope for the day I can secure land to establish my broiler farm and contribute to my country's food security. I miss being in a room full of baby chicks chirping. It has been the hardest 3 years of not doing what I am deeply passionate about, growing broilers.
On June 18th, 2021, I received my first batch of 100 broiler chicks, along with feed and medication, supported by PESI 2021 through @dlrrd_za . Thread continues on comments.

Unfortunately, I couldn't expand due to lack of land to raise more broilers, and the room I used was repurposed. Writing this brings a heavy heart, as I've been unsuccessfully searching for a farm since 2021.
As a novice, I managed quite well, with only six losses in my first batch and zero mortality in my second and subsequent batches.
My passion for broiler farming deepened, and I continued until late 2022.
With no prior experience, except for what I had learnt from the internet about efficiently raising broilers and support from my partner @manlu_59west , I began my venture. I was raising my broilers in a 3x6 cm room.

So I got me a mini egg incubator that incubates 8 eggs. Today is my 1st day of incubating my fertile eggs I got from my indigenous chicken. I'm excited and looking forward for the 21 days of hatching 🐣🐣🐣

The best decision I have done for myself is to start with what I have. On the 8th of September I have received my 2nd batch of 100 day olds, I'm enjoying the journey in growing broilers. So far so good, no mortality to report on and still learning on broiler management.
