Actor Ernest Bognine served in the U.S. Navy before WWII & reenlisted during WWII. Serving upon the USS Lamberton and the anti-submarine USS Sylph, patrolling the Atlantic searching for German U-boats. His military service inspired his acting career. Another great American 🇺🇸

How much more of this are we supposed to take? Mass deportations now!

Master Sergeant Michael L. "Mike" McNulty. United States Army. 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta. A Knoxville, Tennessee native who graduated from high school in Elgin, Illinois in 1986, McNulty enlisted in the Army that same year as an infantryman. After a brief separation from active duty, he reenlisted in 1994 and served with the 327th Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and later in Hawaii, where he served as a rifle squad leader, instructor, and reconnaissance squad leader. He earned his Ranger tab and or and
built a reputation as one of the best small unit leaders in the regular Army.
In 2000, McNulty successfully passed Delta Force Selection and was assigned to the Unit, the U.S. Army's most elite Tier 1 special mission unit. He earned a spot on one of Delta's coveted recce / sniper troops, the same shadowy reconnaissance and direct action element that had produced legends like Bob Horrigan and "Speedy."
For the next five years, McNulty deployed repeatedly into the heart of the Global War on Terror, conducting some of the most sensitive operations in Iraq and beyond. He earned at least 20 awards over his career, including three Bronze Stars, the Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.
On June 17, 2005, McNulty was part of a Delta assault force conducting a night raid on a known Al Qaeda compound near Al Qaim, Iraq. The insurgents inside had built a hardened fighting position, a bunker trap, and were waiting. Master Sergeant Bob Horrigan was killed entering the room. McNulty was struck by enemy small arms fire in the same engagement and died of his wounds hours later. He was 36 years old. He was posthumously promoted to Master Sergeant and awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Purple Heart.

YES or NO?
Veteran isolation is brutal and real as hell.
This morning I posted about sitting on my porch, sick, alone with my dog, friends completely gone, family living a quarter mile away but never around. No calls. No check-ins. Just silence.
I’ve heard the exact same story from way too many combat vets.
They come home from war, try to reintegrate, and slowly watch their world shrink:
- Friends ghost you because “you’re different now.”
- Family stops reaching out when the conversations get heavy.
- You stop answering texts so you don’t burden anyone.
- You sit in the house for days, fighting your own head, telling yourself you’re supposed to be strong enough to handle it alone.
The VA, the churches, the “support” groups, most of them don’t fix the loneliness. They hand you pills or a pat on the back and send you back into the same empty house.
So you fight alone. Heal alone. Survive alone.
If you’re a veteran reading this and you’re feeling it right now. You’re not weak, you’re not broken, and you’re not the only one.
What’s one way isolation has hit you hardest since getting out?
