Today was a really old school Pakistan performance. Felt so nostalgic. Tri series, early collapse, mid innings build, late surge.

Some reverse in the middle, using spin to strangle.

Suddenly feeling the magic again.

And this feeling, in itself is the real win.

Probably not the worst idea to bring Naseem back and try the short pitch attack. Yes, he had a bad over but he's been good with the old ball recently. Batters now used to the spinners.

The youngsters have been such a breath of fresh air in this series. Arafat, Hassan Nawaz. Even Saad Baig. There's hope and life in Pakistan cricket still.

Lower order did its job today. Fakhar, Saim and Babar will need to start doing their jobs if we are going to get those extra 50 runs.

Now that England is batting, it looks like a 350 run pitch.

And this is the reality check Pakistan needs. We can get away with 300 vs SL. Or we can make turners and beat England

But in World Cup we will need to win on pitches like this. Against aggressive teams like England

I have no doubts he will perform against lower ranked teams. So that will always be a given. Do we see him making an actual impact against a top 4 team? Kinda like what Hassan Nawaz did today?

Today’s batting performance is such a perfect summary of where we are in Odis. Carrying some dead weight, some youngsters finding their feet, some youngsters flourishing. I’m fine with the youngsters, but do we want to keep carrying dead weight like Babar to the World Cup?

Realistically do we see Babar elevating his game against the top teams at a relatively consistent level? Or are we saying we are ok with these middling scores that just hold up an end for 15 overs?

I guess team management thinks holding up an end is his most important role.

I was too hard on naseem. Saw highlights, and he had decent control, especially with his outswing. It’s when he goes for the big inswinger that he strays down the leg side. Thats a potent weapon, hope he gets that right. But all in all,naseem looking good,shaheen more problematic

Naseem and Shaheen’s lack of control is quite shocking tbh. These guys have been regulars for 6+ years now.

In decent bowling condition they still haven’t found any sort of consistency.

Better teams will thrash them around
