Using this post to remind everyone that Sean Hogg, who raped a 13yo girl in Scotland, has only been sentenced to community service and 3 years on the register.
He is serving no jail time and lives in his victims community.
This is the reality of anti-feminist prison abolition.
For some reason it feels actually crazy to hear a woman use the same absolutist, trailing, sporadic sentence structure as Donald Trump, and then seamlessly incorporate pseudo-wellness-mumbo-jumbo speech into that.
I feel like I’m watching performance art.
Ivanka Trump announces that she and her husband, Jared Kushner, are building a massive off-the-grid private island in the middle of the Mediterranean.
The island spans 1,400 hectares and currently has no power.
They will be working with some of the world's greatest living architects to bring this vision to life.
"It's massive in scale."
A white guy rapes someone and the system bends over backward to make sure his life isn't disrupted. A young girl fights for her survival and they steal her entire youth. If this doesn’t make your blood boil, you are part of the problem. Absolutely vile.
Women get higher rates of PTSD, depression, postpartum, somatic and panic disorders, and EDs, yet have always been pathologized. Historically treated with brain damage, institutionalization, even solitary confinement, SA and torture
Why isn't there a Womens Mental Health Month
Men and boys will watch pornography where the girl that goes on set is not the same girl that leaves the set. These girls and women are broken and torn apart from the life they knew. Its the most egregious crime possible yet treated as a normality due to normalization of porn.
Even stalkers who have been to prison will spend years convincing themselves and everyone around them that their victim is lying, that they never stalked anyone, and will even go as far as DARVO to position themselves as the victim, despite being arrested, having stalking orders, non-mol orders, court orders, charges or even convictions.
People around the stalker (and the victim) would prefer to believe a lie, than believed they have been lied to.
Think about it, have you ever met anyone who has admitted to being a stalker?
Anyone ever told you that they stalked their victims for months or years?
Anyone ever admitted that they became fixated on a target?
A rape case was dropped 13 days before trial.
Years later, an independent review found it should have gone ahead.
But by then, it was too late.
Here's why that matters.
A woman reported a rape.
Three and a half years later, she was preparing for trial.
Then the CPS dropped the case.
The reason? A sexsomnia defence.
The case would never be heard by a jury.
Most people thought that was the end.
It wasn't.
She requested a Victim's Right to Review.
An independent Chief Crown Prosecutor reviewed the decision.
The conclusion was extraordinary.
The case should never have been dropped.
In fact, the review found it was more likely than not that a jury would have convicted.
But there was a devastating problem.
The CPS had already offered no evidence in court.
Double jeopardy meant the case could never be reopened.
The decision was found to be wrong.
The outcome could not be changed.
So she sued the CPS.
The CPS apologised.
They paid damages.
They changed policy.
And today, there is a pilot scheme that gives victims an option for a review before rape cases are dropped.
That woman was me.
My case can't be put back before a jury.
But others shouldn't have to hear that a case should have gone to trial only after it's too late to do anything about it.
That's why I'm campaigning for victims to have a review before cases are dropped.
And for the current pilot to become permanent.
Not after.
When it's too late.

If you turned on the TV in another country and saw the leader's daughter-in-law giving him a softball interview on a major "news" channel, you would rightfully assume that country is a tinpot dictatorship.
This is unironically what men (often knowingly!) mean when they claim women unfairly ruin men's lives btw. £26 for 3 separate instances of raping small children as a group.
Republicans in North Carolina just proposed a bill that says if a woman is caught with an IUD or attempts to get an abortion then men are allowed to use DEADLY FORCE to try and stop her. They are proposing a bill that will allow men to kill women for using birth control. It’s House Bill 1232. Keith Kidwell is the Republican who proposed the bill. He claims it counts as self defense to use deadly force to stop abortion. This is a man who claims to be pro life. Feel free to give his office a call and let him know how you feel about his opinion.
And for anyone who says “obviously this will never get passed” that’s not the point. The point is it’s fucking insanity that a government official would even try to make a law like this. It’s insanity that there are men out there who are trying to make it legal to kill women for making decisions for their own bodies. This is real and it’s happening right now in front of our eyes.
More people are becoming aware about the prevalence of teenage boys committing rape and CSA.
Rape is about power and when we have a society that socialises boys, from a young age, that they're superior to girls, that increases gender-based violence.
Horrifying testimony of Australian woman raped by the IOF:
'They wrenched my trousers and underwear down and it felt like I was inserted with a hand..it wasn't a gun...other people had guns inserted inside them.'
- Juliet Lamont, documentary filmmaker.
It’s terrifying that boys this young are already raping little girls.
It should be considered an emergency.
It should anger everyone that rape culture is so pervasive and normalized that children are doing it.
Sadly our society doesn’t care about women and girls.
This story gets so much worse. Apparently this all started because police were called out for a disturbance after her husband broke their tv out of anger after finding out his brother was killed by Israel in Gaza. The husband is Palestinian. When the police were taking him into custody his wife stopped them because she wanted to accompany him and that is when the officer threw her on the ground for “interference.” The couple was cooperative with the police the entire time and yet this is how they were treated.
She delivered the baby prematurely because of the physical trauma on her body but thankfully both she and the baby survived and are in good health. She easily could have miscarried.
This entire police department should be investigated and that officer should be arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

"More than 100 children who have previously been held in Western Australia's youth detention centres have made a litany of allegations about sexual abuse"
This is what elite, world-class investigative journalism looks like:
Carole Cadwalladr and her team at The Nerve have forensically stripped the mask off the British political establishment.
The pattern they found in The Harborne Receipts is nothing short of terrifying. Millions of pounds flow from a crypto-billionaire into the pockets of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage, and like clockwork, weeks later, those exact politicians start pushing laws to benefit the crypto industry.
It is the exact same playbook Donald Trump used in America. It is cash-for-policy, clear as day.
While the billionaire-owned press tries to distract us with culture wars and theatre, true journalists follow the money.
This is the toxic soil that is destroying our democracy from within.
Absolute honour to see her back in action!
🚨NEW: 2 Fordingbridge rapists were reported to police for sexual assault just ten days before their first attack. A local parent would go onto warn police that one boy was “showing controlling abusive behaviour to young girls” shortly before second attack https://t.co/klodYhZri6
ok but why does this have nothing to do with sex work. i keep being told it's not okay to suggest that sw is exploitative if the person doing it says they aren't being exploited. like why does it stop being sw once u start agreeing with someone like me that this is exploitation?
