I'm tired of the playbook of bringing up anecdotes or relying on the relativist fallacy against a research consensus.
The most perplexing thing is I have encountered this line of argument used by conservative scientists. Do they not feel anything doing this?
Alito's dissent gives the game away:
"This Court adopts a rule that even England abandoned"
Yeah. England changed the ancient common law rule by passing a law.
Not by asking their courts to rewrite history.
In case you didn't read the article:
This man raped his wife. He raped her so violently her anus perforated and she passed away in the hospital.
But it's “not a crime” according to the Delhi High Court.
This is a gamble from Meloni that she can stay ahead of the center-left coalition. Although this will give her a better chance of remaining PM, it could also backfire really badly.
Giorgia Meloni is pressing ahead with an overhaul of Italy’s electoral system that opposition parties have denounced as an “authoritarian” attempt to secure victory in next year’s general election. https://t.co/MBOTJWwd4b
The Supreme Court has sided with the maker of Roundup weedkiller, blocking thousands of lawsuits alleging it failed to warn users the product could cause cancer. https://t.co/cmfg5x68jb
It's been 94 years since the Siamese Revolution, and the struggle has never really been over. It must be emphasized that democracy extends beyond the ballot box. Shall a nation which cannot afford its citizens liberty and equality deserve to call itself democratic?
@Pagan5242 Posit that "encouraging or grooming" is the standard. As heteronormativity promotes heterosexuality, a school can either eliminate all materials that include any form of sexual orientation or gender expression, including any that mention straight relationships, or include both.
@Pagan5242 Considering the APA statement and scientific consensus, if we were to follow your post that it shouldn't bother us if LGBTQ+ propaganda is banned, then the standard should equally apply to heterosexual propaganda. What, then, should be the definition of this "propaganda"?
Welcome to Thailand. I would probably feel the same if I were an international viewer. However, as a Thai, apart from some courtroom performances, it's sadly quite believable.
@IndyyProg You're not wrong. Given the same transfer efficiency, she would be up by ~1.6 points (50.8–49.2) in the final round, and that's a statistical tie.
My take on today's primary is that Hannah Pingree has a decent chance of beating Nirav Shah, that is, if she makes it to the final round. However, if she falls behind Troy Jackson in the penultimate round, Shah is in a much better spot in the final round.
