In the first days of the Russian invasion, he rode a bicycle toward Irpin with only three RPG-7 rounds to stop Russian columns heading for the Kyiv region.

Serhiy commanded a marine unit and died a few days ago in an airstrike. His fellow soldiers remembered him as a man who inspired others through his personal example.
