โข Government: โwe will raise NHS staff pay by 3%
โข Truth: โInflation is 2% & the government have just raised taxes on nurses by 1.25%โ
The government have cut NHS staff pay
@ACU_CRHFT This looks great! By the time it opens Iโll be into my 2nd of qualifying as a nurse, looking forward to being able to pick up extra shifts here ๐ค
@007_nurse @StNurseProject @WeStudentNurse Depends what Uni you are with. Which in itself I think is unfair that some unis technically require more hours of their student than others. Some unis take breaks as worked hours.
@silviarice Iโve done all those inset days. Most of our placements are at the same hospital, so the specialist teams are the same. I have repeated those inset days many times now. Also, with covid we can only do inset days when when the teams come onto our placement area
@BurrowsRagan@ruth_rawson @StNurseProject Oh my gosh! Hope itโs a nice ward! Donโt know how much more you can learn for repeat placements. Thereโs such a variety of jobs out there in nursing, shame to hinder the future of nursing
@ruth_rawson @StNurseProject Yes! Exactly my point! I know I would never choose to work in this area, so why do I have to work here twice as part of my training?! ๐คฏ
@texvillageidiot Iโm all for resilience as part of training, but forcing students to be a part of a situation which they already had a bad experience of, with no support, makes for poor mental health
Genuinely canโt believe my academic progress over the past year. Going from re-subbing 2/3 assignments in year 1 feeling like I would never be good enough, to passing everything & highest score of 98% on final assignment in year 2 ๐คฏ #studentNurse#UniLife#FutureNurse
@tzijlstra For me, I wanted a university that the lecturers would know who I am, a more personal approach/approachable lecturing team. But I think for a lot of people distance from home is a big factor.
