I want to share some of my thoughts of working with extremely vulnerable teenage girls. I’ve been thinking about my time working with them a lot recently and thought it might help to just put it all down.

• Transgender is not a sexuality
• Trans is not a “type of gay”
• No child is born in the wrong body
• Sex is observed, not assigned
• You cannot change your sex
• Lesbians do not have penises
• Gay men do not have vaginas
• Women don’t have to justify single sex spaces

@mominbayarea When I was a teen girls dabbled in shoplifting, sexual promiscuity had always been a thing, anorexia and bulimia, cutting. All these things were cries for help, attention, or an expression of control. This is the latest iteration.
