there’s not a single SB19 performance that i’ve found underwhelming. they outdo themselves every damn time. even during rehearsals, they go all out.
so if you still can’t see how great SB19 is as artists, that’s a you problem.
You know what’s been on my mind since SB19’s Lollapalooza performance?
The moment they stepped onto that stage, Josh immediately said, “IT’S OUR FIRST TIME HERE, BUT DEFINITELY WON’T BE OUR LAST!”
Not after their performance. Not after they had proven anything to the crowd. Right from the beginning!
THE CONFIDENCE??? It’s like SB19 really came to Lollapalooza already knowing they’d be back. 😭
And that kind of certainty coming from them makes me even more excited for what’s next! 🥹
I thought I'd have a bias in SB19, but I realized... I genuinely don't.
The moment one member sings or steps into the spotlight, I'm completely captivated. Then another member comes in, and suddenly my attention shifts to him. It keeps happening over and over. 😭
They truly live up to the Filipino expression, "walang tapon." Every single member proves exactly why it fits them perfectly... P-POP KING5 🇵🇭👑
Shared a table with strangers at Lolla Day 1 — they wouldn’t stop hyping up SB19 😅 had to ask them why 👇🎥 #Lollapalooza#SB19#PPop

The best review of SB19's Lollapalooza set didn't come from an A'TIN.
It came from two casual festival-goers who had never seen them before.
Huge thanks to the A'TIN who took the time to interview them. 🥹 The full conversation is even better than this clip.

A casual officemate approached me. She congratulated me kasi daw magperform ang SB19 sa Lollapalooza. She even mentioned they deserved it kasi ang talented nila.
And then another casual friend din who messaged me about the performance of SB19 sending me the dance break of DAM. Saying tunog Pilipino talaga.
SOBRANG SAYA NG PUSO KO😭
Nakakaproud kayo, SB19!🇵🇭😭

Hindi talaga ako mahilig sumali sa fanwars. Tahimik lang akong nagfa-fangirl sa SB19. Pero kapag obvious na puro hate na lang at binabalewala ang talent nila, don't expect me to stay quiet.
You don't have to like them, but you can't deny their skills. Facts over fandom. 🤷🏻♀️
It’s funny to see casuals defending the boys. Because it was actually SB19 being bashed by others for no reason that made me rise to their defense back when I didn’t even know or care who they were. So don’t worry about it. Most people can see through the senseless hate.
Also A’Tin? Nicest mfers I’ve ever met at a festival omg everyone was just so sweet and happy to be there 🥹they were so cute lol SB19 can be proud of their fans

Stell blew me away (obviously) but all of them together was a masterpiece. The choreo and vocals. The energy and fun they brought had us hooked. My sisters fell in love with Justin and Pablo and we had to ask the names of the others cause everyone had a moment that was 🤌✨
Y’all are quick in finding us I can’t respond to all of you but everyone is so nice🥹😭 I’ve been a casual fan of SB19 for a couple years but seeing them live was definitely an experience and brought a whole new appreciation for their talent. A’Tin have every right to be proud
Lmaoo that’s me and my sisters😂😂😂 it was 100% how tf can he sing like that🔥🔥 we all walked away in absolute awe they were so good, our fave of the day.
Before we talk about representation, let's also consider what our representatives had to endure.
SB19 represented the Philippines exactly how I wanted Filipino music to be represented under DIRECT AFTEROON SUNLIGHT, carrying the responsibility of representing our country on a global stage. Two audience members reportedly passed out, showing just how intense the heat was. That's something no artist would ever want for their fans.
The heat affected everything. SB19 had to sing live, dance continuously, stay on pitch, and perform while SQUINTING against the sun and sweating heavily all while knowing their audience was enduring the same conditions.
That's why the circumstances matter when comparing performances. A shaded stage naturally allows more control over lighting and visuals, while direct sunlight creates challenges that even their lighting team had to work around.
Despite that, SB19 delivered representation through:
✅ THE HIGHLIGHT : LIVE VOCALS LOUDER THAN THE BACKTRACK. Filipino throat chakra at its finest.
✅ 7 Tagalog songs- in their set, choosing songs like MAPA and WAKAS.
✅ TAGALOG lyrics on screen with English translations- so global audiences could understand the message.
✅ Fans chanting TAGALOG LYRICS
✅ Filipino-American inspired outfits- honoring both cultures.
✅ Their own written and produced music-showcasing Filipino artistry.
✅ Proudly introducing themselves from the Philippines, with the Philippine flag in the opening visuals.
While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we should still be mindful because not everyone has the same luxuries.
Lastly, representation is not just about flashy production. It's about bringing our language, music, talent, VOICE and identity to the world, even when certain circumstances make it harder.
SB19 MADE MANY OF US PROUD! 🇵🇭🫶
Looking forward to seeing them conquer more global stages. ✨😉
I've been trying to stay silent, but I've had enough.
SB19 performed with the sun literally blasting into their faces. No lighting director can control that. They were squinting, sweating, dancing full-out, and still singing louder than their backtracks.
Go stand outside at 3 PM facing the sun. Sing. Dance. Try to keep your eyes open and stay on pitch. FOR AN HOUR!
Only then can you compare that performance to one in a shaded venue with cooler temp, controlled lighting, props, and louder backtracks.
"Pumiyok daw?"
Even the best live performers crack sometimes. That's what happens when you actually sing louder live instead of hiding behind loud backtracks. SB19 has never been afraid to let people hear their real vocals.
Stell? He was still belting those signature high notes under the blazing heat. Filipino throat chakra, indeed. Kung ano boses nila sa mga tiktok covers, ganun din sa actual perf.
The choreography didn't disappear either. They were still hitting synchronized routines, jumps, and high-energy moves while singing live. That's not easy under normal conditions, let alone under DIRECT sunlight.
Hindi naman sobrang init? Aware ba kayo na may nahimatay sa audience? not just one but 2! I mean just think...
Lastly, the crowd wasn't handed to them. It built up naturally throughout the set coz people stayed, watched, and got louder with every song. No fancy props needed, the live vocals, choreography, charisma, Stell's brazillian dance, and crowd engagement were more than enough.
You don't have to like SB19. But if you're going to compare performances, compare them under the same conditions. Otherwise, you're comparing comfort to endurance.
there’s something admirable about artists who are willing to become “new”again.
SB19 could’ve stayed where their name was already established, but they chose to expand instead.
if the music is honest and the performance is real, people will listen.
that’s how they’ve continued to cross borders through talent, not shortcuts.
Never ako nahiya sa performance ng SB19 sa Lollapalooza.
They sang their hearts out with little to NO backtrack. VOICES PALANG NILA PANALO NA TAYO kasi MUSIC festival ang pinuntahan nila at ‘di fashion show. ✨✨✨
ngl i’d rather have people (esp casuals) praising my faves for their insane live vocals & performance than just the bonggang stage prod or fits 🙂↔️
and seeing them enjoy SB19’s set and sing along? that’s THE biggest flex 🤘🏻
