My vision ended and I awoke with a tremendous feeling of optimism & confidence in you & your future. I'm so glad to have had this opportunity to share it with you.
Scandinavian winters are so dark, so draining, that when spring comes one becomes manic with joy. Even though it happens every year, one is left overwhelmed by the sense that they had forgotten it was possible to feel this good.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Slava Tsukerman, director of the new wave classic LIQUID SKY. Slava was a true visionary and uncompromising artist who created an international sensation with SKY, helping to change art, fashion, and music forever.
In the nearly two years leading up to the release of LIQUID SKY, Slava, along with his wife and long-time collaborator Nina Kerova, often invited us to join them for meals and visits to the New York neighborhoods which inspired them, from the East Village to Brighton Beach. Their kindness made them a pleasure to work with and we are honored that they trusted us to restore and present Slava's masterwork on home video.

R.I.P. Tom Noonan
I really do like Whiplash. 'Abuse may kill a lot of people, but it also helps a lot of people play more technically proficient jazz, so, it;s impossible to say if its bad or not' is an amazing thesis for a film to have
To be an artist, you don't have to compose music or paint or be in the movies or write books. It's just a way of living. It has to do with paying attention, remembering, filtering what you see and answering back, participating in life.

unwittingly you've met transgender persons whom you have not even noticed. a courteous cashier, a friendly waitress, a relative of a friend. they are human beings like you. they are not demons, villains. you didn't even notice them. really, you don't have to protect women & girls from them, to the degree that you might need to protect girls & women from random men who commit by far the majority of violent acts against girls & women.
if you doubt this, look up the statistics regarding rape & rape/murder. who commits those acts? when a pregnant woman is killed, who is most likely to have killed her?
seriously: do the research.
PLEASE romanticize your life, take pretty pictures, feel like the main character, light up a candle, read books, go for a walk, dance to your favorite music, buy yourself presents, do whatever you want, be happy. this is your life, don’t let anyone take it from you
Toni Morrison: "It is more interesting, more complicated, more intellectually demanding and more morally demanding to love somebody, to take care of somebody, to make one other person feel good"
