@ReadingQueen13 @AlicaBr11306074 @axleonder I know there is infighting, as I've seen some of it, but it's faintly depressing that the two sides mirror each other, at least to a limited extent.
@ReadingQueen13 @AlicaBr11306074 @axleonder I honestly didn't know that, but thanks for being honest. I'm geriatric and an innately lonely soul, so avoid group situations and am content to leave sorting this mess out to later generations.
@ReadingQueen13 @AlicaBr11306074 @axleonder At the risk of sounding achingly appalling, single sex groups work for women, but in the male context end up being dominated by a few blowhards with an agenda. The problem and the solution are fused together.
@ReadingQueen13 @AlicaBr11306074 @axleonder Men haven't made the effort that women have, that of reimagining themselves and their place in the world. Instead, there's a fearful, sullen retreat to a remote redoubt made of lager cans and dubious tissues.
@ReadingQueen13 @AlicaBr11306074 @axleonder I find this stuff infinitely unsettling, perhaps because of the idea that men should be like freemasons, all sticking together and enthusiastically agreeing with each other. Patriarchy fucks us all up. Men. Women. Whoever.
I'm in intensive therapy after my marriage broke up. Today, I was helped to the realisation that one of my parents is a narcissist and the other is an enabler. The future has never looked more frightening, uncertain or impossible.
I am with people who do not understand depression, people who are pressuring me and forcing me, and it is absolute hell. Sorry for the self-indulgent message.
