​Instead, the leopard uses crypsis, freezing completely to avoid a fight. The bull, aware of its size, drinks calmly. Only when the heavy ungulate shifts and breaches the leopard’s critical flight distance does the cat break cover and retreat. It is a example of wild pragmatic coexistence.
