My brief take on @GBNEWS re Labour's 2-tier social media ban for u 16s. Somehow Starmer forgot to ban Bluesky. They're such numpties: so keen to contol how plebs communicate, they forget to control their own comms & make their biases blatantly obvious.

This is the most important study of Reform’s supporters to date — by Sir John Curtice.
It blows apart lazy narratives in Westminster.
They aren’t just political protestors or the economically “left behind”.
They know exactly what they want.

What dismal news that the Assisted Suicide bill is coming back. They are hoping to use the Parliamentary override to force it through without any of the improvements and safeguards offered in the Lords last time including by the Bill’s advocates like Lord Falconer. We’re going to be offered the same bill that left the Commons (left with lots of ‘oh the Lords will clean up that glaring problem, don’t worry just pass it’) on a take-it-or-leave-it, unamendable basis. Even if you accept the case for assisted dying this Bill is terrible, far too expansive and full of holes to be filled in after it’s in statute… but the advocates know they’ll never have a such a ‘progressive’ Parliament for years, so it’s now or never. So they’re trying to push through a dangerous bill that they admitted needed significant improvement, because it’s their last chance. They must be stopped.

A juror — a JUROR — in the Palestine Action case is now speaking at a rally in their support. 😵💫
This is the collapse of the apparatus of our freedoms. What is Britain becoming?
Will Europe Save Hamas in Gaza? I recently met with a high-ranking European official from a country deeply involved in the Israel and Palestine file to discuss Gaza’s future and immediate options for relieving civilians trapped under Hamas’s grip. I presented a simple proposal: create safe zones across the "Yellow Line" into the Israel‑controlled green zone and support new, organized, secure, Hamas‑free communities where Gazans could finally begin rebuilding their lives. Whether the issue is humane living conditions, deradicalization, education, healthcare, or shielding civilians from both Hamas or Israeli strikes, the green zone is the only place where meaningful action is possible. Instead of engaging, the official launched into a long monologue about their country’s contributions to the Palestinian Authority, UNRWA, and other institutions, all while insisting on their own “humility” as a faraway European nation.
Then came the truly alarming part: a casual normalization of Hamas. The official proudly described how easy it had been to work with Hamas before October 7, praising the group for providing “excellent security” and being “easier to work with than others.” What they called pragmatism was, in reality, a twenty‑year pattern of enabling a violent terrorist organization responsible for immense civilian suffering.
When I explained that any Hamas‑free zones would require vetting at the Yellow Line to prevent weapons or operatives from entering, the official reacted with shock. “This vetting would violate international law,” they repeated, insisting that their country could not fund projects with any checks on who enters. I noted the absurdity: I had undergone extensive vetting just to enter their country, and even this building, yet they believed Hamas fighters should be able to walk into new civilian safe zones unimpeded. Their only response was vague appeals to “international law,” which, in their interpretation, seems to require allowing terrorists to hide among civilians.
The meeting ended on an even more surreal note. When the official asked what would happen to Hamas fighters left in the red zone, I said I didn’t care; they could fight the Israeli military on their own all they wanted once they no longer held two million civilians hostage. The official lamented that “this isn’t the old American West” and expressed concern for what would happen to Hamas without human shields. Disgust doesn’t begin to describe my feelings and reactions.
I left convinced of something long suspected: Hamas’s twenty‑year rule was sustained not only by its own brutality but by an ecosystem of NGOs, donor nations, Western European governments, journalists, academics, activists, lawyers, and even self‑styled human‑rights defenders who normalized Hamas, treated it as a legitimate authority, or tolerated its abuses because their hostility toward Israel outweighed their concern for Gazans.
“Contaminated with apartheid and Zionism.”
The anti-Israel mob have officially stopped pretending this isn’t about targeting Jews.
Stickers calling to boycott Israeli goods were placed on a box of matzah in Sainsbury’s in Clifton, Bristol. However, the manufacturer – Rakusen’s – is based in Yorkshire.
This is not a product from Israel. This is a British kosher manufacturer, based in the north of England. Any pretence of this being about Israel has dropped.
They simply saw kosher products in a supermarket and decided that it was fair game to vandalise.
In the 1930s, Nazi propaganda used analogies which compared Jews to parasites, in an effort to dehumanise them and to justify the cleansing of German society from what was perceived to be an unhygienic, contaminating threat. Boycotts of Jewish goods and businesses were also an attempt to rid society of Jews. These stickers echo those disturbing ideas.
We understand that the store manager was alerted and that a police investigation is currently underway.
The targeting of Jewish goods, which bear no connection to Israel, in the name of activism only does one thing: it targets Jews.
Bloody hell, I’ve been digging more into the government definition of 'Crisis' a bit more
So... an unelected regulator is now operating within government where the meaning of “crisis” has become very stretched.
The Cabinet Office Amber Book says an emergency under the Civil Contingencies Act covers serious damage to human welfare, the environment or UK security. (fair enough)
But then it has added ... “For the purposes of this guidance, the terms emergency and crisis are used interchangeably.”... INTERCHANGEABLY?
It also says an emergency/crisis can include situations that have not yet been harmful but have the potential to be (they do not define 'harmful' This guidance has not been voted for or debated
So let me explain why thats so important. it means that almost any situation the government believes could become a problem can now be treated as a 'crisis'. And under that broad language, Ofcom has been able to write to platforms about civil unrest, crisis situations and how they will need to beef up moderation, it isnt just about removing illegal content.
Anything could become a “crisis”, no one voted for the widening of the definition and no one had the opportunity to, because thats how government by guidance works.... hoping you won't even notice.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. So why did Nicholas Kristof and the New York Times publish an unbelievable claim about ‘Israeli rape dogs’ without a shred of evidence? The New York Times has *still* not withdrawn this lie, says Cory Franklin

Excellent from @LordIanAustin on yet ANOTHER debate on the evils of Israel:
As he says: ‘Over the last few years, Parliament has discussed Israel more than any other issue, not just any international issue, more than any domestic issue: more than the economy, unemployment, crime, the NHS.
‘The public out there look at Parliament and think this is utterly mad, utterly, utterly mad.’
Lord Ian blames Parliament for helping fuel antisemitism adding:
‘Does Parliament not understand that singling out the world's only Jewish state, holding its standards not applied to anywhere else, falsely accusing Israel of committing these terrible crimes? ‘This is bound to drive hostility towards people who are identified with Israel, which is the vast majority of the Jewish community, and I have to say this is why I believe Parliament is playing a large role in driving the explosion of anti-Semitism that we've seen on the streets of Britain.’
At long last, the UN Human Rights Council has formally acknowledged that Hamas in Gaza carried out executions, torture, improperly used medical facilities for terror purposes, and engaged in violent abuses against women and children after October 7. The report captures only a fraction of what actually occurred, in part because documenting these crimes is extraordinarily difficult and because Gazans fear retaliation if they report anything to the UN or other investigators. The findings on Hamas were buried beneath a long section on Israeli settler abuses in the West Bank, but even so, this marks a significant shift for an international body that has long struggled to speak plainly about Hamas’s brutality in Gaza.
Most importantly, the report acknowledges but barely scratches the surface of how extensively Hamas has weaponized Gaza’s medical infrastructure, embedding fighters in hospitals, using patients as shields, and turning civilian facilities into operational hubs. The UN even notes that Doctors Without Borders evacuated non-essential staff from Nasser Hospital because Hamas was interfering with the hospital’s operations.
When I shared this information, including testimonies from Gazans who documented Hamas’s fascistic behavior inside hospitals, and photos of fighters emerging from Nasser Hospital after the ceasefire, the online “pro-Palestine” chorus had nothing to offer except accusations of Zionist collaboration, accusations of betrayal, and personal insults. This UN report is an indictment not only of Hamas, a violent extremist terror organization responsible for immense suffering, but also of every activist, journalist, and academic who chose to look away. It shows that Hamas’s crimes were so egregious, so undeniable, that even a slow, hesitant, and often ineffectual body like the UNHRC could no longer pretend not to see them.
Shame on anyone who still defends Hamas or ever believed its violence constituted “resistance” on behalf of the Palestinian people.
I know the politicians want this to be true so desperately but this is simplistic & doesn't understand purposefully or naively the complexity of the problem. The British working class have lost faith with the State and with the political & media class. They have been harmed massively by middle class liberal identity politics & politicians of every hue have raided their lives, jobs. Communities & hope for generations. This isnt going to be solved with warm words about unity & emotive rhetoric about 'hard working brown or black people' from the people who stood back & allowed this to happen. We've got massive problems. And no one should be burnt out of their home by rioters and no one should be thrown out of their home by HMO scum landlords either.
Hamas is in full panic mode over the June 26 calls for mass protests against its violent, authoritarian, fascistic rule in Gaza. It has unleashed its agents, operatives, loyalists posing as “journalists,” West Bank activists, online propagandists, and terror networks to incite violence, demand a crackdown, and even organize counter‑demonstrations.
Hamas is circulating flyers calling for protests demanding the resignation of Nikolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace executive committee chair overseeing the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), after he criticized Hamas’s stalling and obstruction. Even worse, Hamas supporters in the West Bank, including the vile “journalist” Souad al‑Khawaja, are openly calling for the killing of anyone who protests against the terror group and its “resistance.” Expect the same from Western “pro‑Palestine” circles in Europe and the US: they will smear anti‑Hamas protesters as “collaborators,” “traitors,” “Israeli agents,” or “suspicious individuals.” We saw this during the war, when thousands of Gazans demanded the release of hostages and an end to the conflict Hamas ignited.
Watch closely how the most anti‑Palestinian elements of the “pro‑Palestine” cult will once again find any excuse to side with Hamas over the actual people of Gaza.
Senior Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue bosses have cautioned firefighters who support Reform UK.
Fire chiefs sent an email to staff stating that firefighters who support — or have stood as candidates for — Reform UK had been spoken to about their views.
The email, sent by Mr Petch and Ms Ahmed, also appeared to encourage staff to report colleagues they believe support Reform UK.
The General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, Lord Young, has written to Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, who is responsible for the governance of the region’s fire and rescue service and is widely regarded as our next Prime Minister.
In his letter, Lord Young wrote: “Staff are further invited to report colleagues who support any groups that go against the service’s values, which effectively amounts to an instruction to inform on colleagues for their political beliefs.”
He added: “The practical effect is that a public fire and rescue service governed by you is treating the lawful political activity of your electoral opponents as a reputational risk to their employer.
“Regardless of whether this reflects your instruction, it reflects your governance; and a public office-holder who permits his institution to demonise or chill the speech and political activity of those who support his principal electoral rival cannot claim to be discharging that office with the impartiality it demands.”

“ The UN has become one of the most dangerous instruments in modern geopolitics. Authoritarian regimes are using the UN’s prestige to normalise their behavior, conceal their crimes and peddle anti-Western propaganda. It should terrify all of us that the world’s most trusted watchdog has been successfully leveraged as a PR firm for tyrants.”
