Grateful to @CristianSeguraA of @el_pais for shedding light on russia’s shift to 24-hour drone terror — targeting civilians, historic centers, and our identity. Daytime Shahed attacks are psychological warfare, but Ukraine adapts. The interception rate of unmanned aerial vehicles launched during the day last Tuesday was 97% (compared to 92% at night)

Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion four years ago, Ukraine has emerged as a drone superpower and is now recognized as indispensable for the future defense of Europe, writes @LesyaOrobets in #UkraineAlert.

Can Europe defend itself without America? The real question is whether Europe can defend itself without Ukraine, writes @LesyaOrobets

Think about this figure: 2,763 attacks on healthcare. Pharm warehouses destroyed, hunted ambulances, attacks on hospitals.
For 4 years, russia has tried to strip Ukrainians of medical care and bomb the country into the Middle Ages, trying to force our people to surrender. Yet Ukraine’s health system still functions — thanks to extraordinary doctors and health workers.
War crimes against humanity must be stopped and punished. #MakeRussiapay
Protecting civilian infrastructure requires #SkyShieldNow air patrols — this should have happened long ago.
After a year of Trump-led talks, Russia has only escalated attacks on civilians.
Do not delay. Details in our article on @cepa

Guys, while you calmly watch an aggressor state freeze an entire nation, the consequences are already here. All external power supply to Chornobyl NPP has been cut – IAEA reports
This is not funny. And it will affect the entire European continent.
This is what delaying vital decisions leads to.
Patrolling Ukrainian skies in close cooperation with Ukraine’s counter-drone defence must be priority #1 for European security.

Several Ukrainian electrical substations vital for nuclear safety were affected by widespread military activity this morning, Director General @rafaelmgrossi said.
ChNPP lost all off-site power and power lines to other NPPs were also impacted.
“The IAEA is actively following developments in order to assess impact on nuclear safety,” DG Grossi added.
Russia doesn’t need nuclear weapons to cause a nuclear disaster. Attacking power grids puts reactors seconds from failure—and the risk doesn’t stop at Ukraine’s borders.

#UkraineAlert | The debate over further funding for Ukraine comes at a time when Russia's wartime economy is showing signs of fragility, argue Elena Davlikanova and @LesyaOrobets.
"One of the best ways to pressure Putin is by backing Ukraine."

“Europe’s reluctance to pay for Ukraine’s defense is shortsighted,” write Elena Davlikanova and @LesyaOrobets.
If Russia’s invasion succeeds, Europe will face defense spending far higher than the current cost of backing Ukraine.

After Bart De Wever’s shocking statement that Russia’s defeat is a “fable” and that Belgium should block the use of frozen Russian assets, people will not stay silent.
Together with our friends from the Ukrainian–European Advocacy Group in Belgium @OKuzhym we announce a protest to demand: Belgium, unlock the reparations loan!
As Mr. De Wever said, Europe must work toward a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
Some say Belgium is “profiting from the war” through frozen Russian assets — we hope that’s not true. We believe Belgium can lead by unlocking the loan that uses these assets as collateral.
Putin refuses real negotiations because he thinks he can outwait the West. A predictable two-year funding package backed by frozen Russian assets breaks this strategy, strengthens Ukraine’s defense, and forces Russia to take peace seriously.
During the EU finance ministers’ meeting, we urge Belgium to stop blocking this loan, which requires zero EU taxpayer money. Blocking it weakens Europe’s collective security.
🇺🇦 Ukraine is Europe’s frontline — supporting Ukraine means protecting Europe.

This is exactly why not only Ukraine needs a European #SkyShieldNOW@MD_NationalArmy has confirmed that Moldovan airspace was violated by 6 Shahed-type drones during Russia’s combined air attack against Ukraine — and one of the Russian drones then headed toward Romania.
This initiative must be built in full synergy with the Ukrainian Air Force: Ukraine can be more effective in countering drones while European air forces patrol the skies and shield us from ballistic missiles.
This is a matter of our shared security!
Honored to speak at the @HFXforum on the “Democracies Decide Destiny” panel alongside

My key point: Ukraine keeps fighting — buying time for democracies to act. It’s time to move from “sanctions to help Ukraine” to sanctions that protect yourselves and stop fueling Russia’s war machine.
The key threat is: Russia can make this war nuclear without using nuclear weapons. If they keep attacking our nuclear power plants, it’s only a matter of time before radiation becomes a bargaining tool.
Stop financing security to that big extent, and sooner or later putting down Russia where it belongs, to a normal small size – make Russia small again – in all concepts.
And then we can do bright things together
