As I get older I realize we all have VERY different definitions of success. There are universal "ends" we pursue by default...because we are conditioned to want those things. Wealth, health, trivial doodads and trinkets.
Those things are nice. Guilty as charged. Rip me apart in the comments not that you need my permission.
But what would you die for? What would you demolish yourself for?
The ideal ends are esoteric. Find them. Embrace them. Don't feel shame in knowing what you want and devote yourself in ways the losers will never understand because they are too busy falling in line.
Life is short and leave nothing to be wanted.
If Social Security were run by a private for-profit company like New York Life, Fidelity, or American Funds under the exact same terms as it exists Elizabeth Warren and the CFPB would be foaming at the mouth. But since it's a government entitlement program the scam is all good.
Respecting individuality is not virtuous unless responsibility is placed on the individual rather than the collective.
People should not be restrained from their pursuits, but without accountability for decision-making (good or bad) it all falls apart.
We live in a world where we demand ultimate autonomy, but blame is always placed outside the person screaming oppression.
@WSJ@WSJFreeEx@WSJopinion@MattHennessey It’s public record, not a secret, that the Republican Jewish Coalition, AIPAC, and a Miriam Adelson funded superPAC spent tens of millions of dollars against me to buy this Congressional seat in Kentucky.
@wcdispatch Same. My doctors jaw hits the floor when I tell him I live almost exclusively off meat - mostly red meat and pork and butter. A1c went from 6.5 to 4.8 in less than a year and my cholesterol dropped.
If America would embrace capitalism and reject cronyism
in health care, agriculture, military contracting, insurance, media, technology, and banking,
we would experience a renaissance unprecedented in human history.
@libsoftiktok Aaaaaaaaaaand this is why people should home school.
Government schools produce morons and social justice warriors.
I guess I shoulda just said morons.
@cremieuxrecueil I was wondering when government was going to step in and neuter AI of its best quality - removing human error from high stakes decision making.
Watching what just happened in Iran, I think it’s important to say this:
It’s okay not to have an opinion yet.
Real events unfold in layers. There’s the public version everyone reacts to in real time… and then there’s the deeper reality that only reveals itself with time, evidence, and perspective.
All we know for certain is this: we were promised no new wars but also peace through strength.
So what is this?
Is this the final removal of a threat that we only thought was already neutralized?
Was the first operation the end of it… or the beginning of something bigger?
Does this prevent a war or provoke one?
These are not small questions. And pretending certainty right now is dishonest.
History doesn’t announce itself when it’s happening. It asks you to watch carefully.
So I’m watching. Listening. And waiting.
Because whether this leads to peace or conflict… the truth will eventually make itself known.
There are many good arguments as to why we should/should not be getting into another war.
Anything along the lines of "this violates international law" are naive statements. We make deals, agreements, and such, but there really is no such thing as international law as any enforcement mechanism has no teeth.
All is fair in love and war.
🚨I just signed this. You should too. Millions should. It's the first clear statement that everyone can sign to clearly state that the Covid response, all of it, was wrong, unscientific, unconstitutional, and should never happen again. Please join me! https://t.co/m46hyXmkuz
LET'S DO THIS
Notice the rhetoric? "Exploiting tax loopholes"? People who make terrible laws complaining that people...checks notes....follow the law.
You all love a wildly complicated tax code. It gives lawmakers and grandstanders authority to smear constituents who engage in lawful behaviour they don't like while absolving them of responsibility to actually legislate their beliefs.
Their fear of actually taking a position on record is laughable. Grow a spine or sit down.
Ps, turning off comments proves you have no interest in what people want, and only convincing them to want the things you want as their representative. You got it backwards.
Let’s be clear: running short on revenue does not mean lawmakers have to cut anything.
We can raise more revenue by making sure the wealthiest corporations aren’t exploiting tax loopholes. That makes New Jersey more affordable for ALL.
I took it once like a year ago and had a terrible reaction. I felt like I was cemented to the couch and my tonsils swelled up and got tender. I grokd the crap out of it and got nowhere. I'm like petrified of trying it again wondering if it was just a fluke. Anyone else have a weird reaction? I followed the ramp up dosage on the jug (can't remember what I took) but I believe it was like a quarter of the full dose and then gradually increase.
Am I missing something?
