Rant: I hate this loser mindset. How do you look at all of the other schools in this NIL era that have completely turned their programs around, and you think to yourself 7 wins and a random bowl game everyone sits out of? Why do so many of you want nothing better? The "it's Maryland" crowd. Who just seemed determined to keep Maryland a bottom 5 school and guaranteed Ws for anyone with a pulse. Part of the reason Mike Locksley has coached at Maryland this long is because of those fans with such low or no expectations. And then a lot of those fans and also Media gaslighting and carrying water for him for so long. Why would the school feel pressure to change if so many of you weren't even asking for it? The stove is hot now but some of us have been asking for him to be fired since 2024. He would not have lasted this long at any other P4 school, they have to much self respect. The peak of the Mike Locksley era was 3 regular seasons of 7-5, 7-5, 6-6, then winning those 3 bowl games. That's the peak the "it's Maryland" crowd longs for again. Sure It sounds good right now after back to back 4-8 seasons. And 7 wins is good for a program building up. But that shouldnt be your peak. That's pathetic. The state of Maryland and the DMV has way to much talent and money here. Literally one of the richest in the country. It takes a lot of Time, Business Deals, Donations, and People in place who actually Care about and Want To Win. And Good Coaching. I genuinely believe with that, Maryland has the Potential to be year after year Top 10 in the Big Ten and occasionally competeing for Big Ten Championships.

How are people still defending @TerpsADJimSmith ? He was hired May 2025. Mike Locksley had just come off a 4-8 season in 2024. People said we cant fire him cause we dont want to loose Malik Washington ect. 2025 another 4-8 Season. Reason he stays / his entire time at Maryland he's just needed more money. People are finally learning the VALUE of Coaching. My #1 Pick to replace Mike Locksley last year Bob Chesney just beat us 54-3 at home. UCLA 10:30am local time. The week before James Franklin VT. Back to back losses to First Year head coaches. I'm not buying this we don't have $9 Million crap. P4 schools, especially Big Ten & SEC speak in Millions. Whenever you hear any of these schools talk anything money its always in the millions, and then I'm supposed to believe we dont have 9? What about all those posts about how the school has raised all those Millions? Where did all that money go? Are you seriously trying to tell me, Jim Smith saw 2 back to back 4-8 Seasons, and didnt think to maybe save some of it for a potential firing? I think they're smarter than that. Honestly, I think the only reason Mike Locksley is still the head coach, is because @TerpsADJimSmith is to weak to fire him.

Breaking: The United States Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act of 2026 by a vote of 77-22.

Maryland's senators, Angela Alsobrooks and Chris Van Hollen, both voted "no" on the act, which will regulate athletes' NIL deals and place limits on transfer eligibility, amongst other rules.
