Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert's trade value is at its lowest point, and the Timberwolves didn't get much of a sample size with their new starting five.
Which is exactly why they should run it back next season

Although Adam Silver did not specify anything about a team moving from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference amid potential expansion to Las Vegas and Seattle, the conversation I've had with multiple league personnel is that the Minnesota Timberwolves are the likliest.
Chris Finch today on @PAOnTheMic Nine to Noon show was asked if he still is in contact with KAT:
“Yes of course, he and I maintain contact along with him and some of the guys on the team. I text him after the ECF telling him how great he looks and how happy I was for him”
Chris Finch tells .@PAOnTheMic that he does expect Tim Connelly to be active in the trade market this summer. He said the Wolves do like their young core, but doesn't know how significant any change they make will be.
Separately, Finch said they "definitely need another ball handler and playmaker" next to Anthony Edwards. Also mentioned that part of the solution will be to have Terrence Shannon Jr. be the primary ball handler next to Edwards.
Good breakdown from Sam and Eric on the Giannis situation. They do not mention the Wolves in the top 4 candidates. I won't rule them out, but agree that making a deal is so complex that they are on the outside looking in.
Several within the Timberwolves organization believe Donte DiVincenzo could return at some point next season, per @JonKrawczynski
“DiVincenzo is trying to follow Tatum’s lead. He flew to New York for surgery less than 24 hours after suffering the injury, following a similar timeline that Tatum went through.”

The Timberwolves just confirmed via an email to their season ticket holders that they will, indeed, be ushering in new uniforms next season.
Season ticket holders will be able to see them first on Sunday, June 7.
FWIW, the email is tree themed.
The LA Clippers would likely prioritize good players over draft capital in a Kawhi Leonard trade with a package from Minnesota involving Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, the 28th pick, and an unprotected 2033 first-round pick seen as a potentially optimal package, per @LawMurrayTheNU on the Third Apron Podcast.
“I don’t think the Clippers should be interested in taking back those current Warriors [Draymond Green or Jimmy Butler] or in Andrew Wiggins’ case, former Warriors champion.
The Timberwolves [trade] is probably the best of those … I’m sure Minnesota would love to pair McDaniels, who works out with Kawhi, with Anthony Edwards. That allows them to look at next season and say ‘we can take another leap here’ whereas the Clippers would get the better players out of all the potential trade packages. It’s not the best draft capital, but it’s the better players.”

Minnesota's Micah Nori is also a finalist for the Portland coaching vacancy, @TheSteinLine has learned.
Nori, Blazers interim coach Tiago Splitter and LA Clippers assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy are the known finalists.
A mock trade proposed by Yahoo's Nico Martinez:
Boston receives Rudy Gobert, a 2028 first-round pick, a 2032 first-round pick, and a 2032 second-round pick
Minnesota receives Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard

I love how we are recycling information we already know. That said, please keep these posts coming because it’s an adrenaline rush seeing the Wolves linked to any player 😂
The Heat and Timberwolves were the two teams going back-and-forth with the Bucks about Giannis Antetokounmpo before the trade deadline, per @ShamsCharania
@TimGarrisonMN Love this idea. Murray showed obvious rust when he returned, but I was pleasantly surprised by his play in limited action. His competitiveness would also be a welcomed addition
@McDanielsMuse@Munch4L1fe I would trade for him if the headliner is Randle. He’s a UFA and I can see BKN wanting to re-sign him. I wonder how much interest he has after saying he didn’t try hard because they weren’t winning
He’d replace Randle in lineup but it’s not the biggest positional need right now
