It would be so cool if this carnyx really did have links to the Boudican Revolt, as suggested by its find spot (I'm not sure we could ever be certain though, sadly)

To celebrate the amazing carnyx find as seen on @diggingforbritain here is a short film I made last year using carnyx music played by @LettyStott at dawn on Lindow Moss back in 2024
Following the discovery of a near-complete carnyx at an Iron Age hoard in west Norfolk, we hear a demonstration from trombone player Professor John Kerry.
These animal-headed bronze instruments were used by Celtic tribes across Europe to inspire warriors into battle.
A joyous moment providing a spot of Carnyx for Episode 13.2 of @diggingforbritain - released on BBC2 today, Our Rarest Find and Biggest Dig🥳
So proud to have contributed to the incredible story of this utterly astonishing find🙏

Happy paperback publication day to Echolands, my archaeological journey across Britain in search of Boudica’s war & world! An important day for any book, & I’ve been overwhelmed by such kind words & endorsements. Spread your paper covers & fly, little book!
Still rather awestruck after walking Lindow Moss at dawn this morning, on the 40th anniversary of the discovery of Lindow Man, to hear the amazing @LettyStott playing her own pieces for carnyx. A magical experience, unforgettable for anyone who was there.
@PetrocTrelawny@LettyStott@BBCRadio3@VindolandaTrust Love the show PT! Fascinating listening to the ancient instruments so brilliantly played at Vindolanda. So much has been unearthed since my visit many years ago, I must return. You brought Roman life on the wall back to life, mixed with life now, sheep, dogs 'n' all. Thank you!
A very fun start to the day!😁 Thanks so much for having me on the show @PetrocTrelawny@BBCRadio3 and thanks to the Roman weather gods for clear skies over @VindolandaTrust 🙏
Tune in to the @BBCRadio3 breakfast show tomorrow morning to hear archeology PhD student Letty Stott discussing and demonstrating Iron Age and Roman horns, including the cornu and carnyx – Live from the Roman fort of Vindolanda!
