Blackburn Rovers are devastated to learn of the passing of Tony Parkes.
A true club legend, often referred to as ‘Mr Blackburn Rovers’, Tony passed away last night at the age of 76.
Everyone at the club sends their deepest heartfelt condolences to Tony’s daughter Natalie and all his family and friends at this incredibly sad time.
A special tribute will be held to celebrate Tony’s life and his outstanding contribution to the club’s history at our final home game of the season against Leicester City on Saturday May 2nd.
🗣️ Chris Sutton...
"At Ewood Park there have been boycotts, press bans and confusion over what the intention of their owners actually is.
"They sell their best players constantly, don't reinvest in the squad and are neither present or in touch with supporters."

Still 15 minutes to kick-off - there have been traffic issues - but here is the scene at Ewood Park.
Heard a colleague earlier describe this as ‘the saddest fixture in the EFL’..

Great start to 2026. More lawsuits than wins.
The ownership and Suhail again drag the name of Blackburn Rovers through the gutter.
Manufacturing disputes, Tax disputes, property seizures, transfer embargoes, managerial pay offs. The Raos spend more on lawyers than hiring competent people to run their business.
Incapable of telling the truth or taking responsibility for their actions. They are a disgrace to the club.
Suhail must pay for this.
@miggybrfc@KidderStNoise@NYCRovers You think the demise of our once great club is funny? You should be ashamed of yourself. We will force them out this time - by hook or by crook - and people like you will not be welcome.
Tiredness, self-deprecation, rabid underinvestment.
For Wednesday, there is hope of a brighter future ahead. Today's afternoon at Blackburn Rovers felt familiar and was a reminder that football has an ownership problem.

"The league is poor this year"
Translation
You can't rock up to the Gtech, the Stadium of Light or the Vitality unprepared with one eye on the UCL and sleepwalk to get 3 points any more
The traditional big 6 struggling is only a sign of the league's overall strength
A message to Gestede & Adam Owen
You told us at the Fans' Forum last night you weren't worried about a relegation battle as the data said otherwise...
The only data I care about are the results!
Enough is enough, he has to go
