true crime people are so fucking exhausting i dont give a fuck about your take on the 'hottest new case' theses are real people!!!!!and most recently REAL BABIES!!!! LIEK SHIT THE FUCK up
@drivermallozz this isn’t right solely because the reason people go to ERs and not urgent cares is because health insurance is unaffordable — the ER has to treat you, the urgent care will charge you before entry. People w/o insurance will always opt for the former.
when i was pregnant with my son, i ate lunch at the little caesar’s on e106 st just about everyday no other pizzeria could compete at that time in my life
@StreetsblogNYC is it not safe to say that they upped the ticketing bc the companies can afford it and it brings revenue to the city so both the companies and the gov have 0 intentions of fixing this
@Ben_Upton5 i swear this was a mall chain with this exact concept back before it really embraced the baked potato — i can’t remember the name of it though
@folklaura_ i just had a guy tell me he was a new yorker and “4th of july is so busy” like yeah maybe if you STAY to watch the fireworks but other than that it’s like a jersey shore/hamptons weekend like it’s emmmmpty
@alexandergold also from here, and it’s a very shore/hamptons weekend unless you’re commited to watching the fireworks. Not saying it’s a ghost town but look at it vs Christmas time.
@alexandergold yes fair, but this weekend does hold significant in the timeline of their relationship so i’m again, not super surprised. Also, NYC is essentially “empty” during this weekend.
@2fast4luke i’m old and don’t listen to them much anymore but they even go as far back as having to tour with some of their moms bc they weren’t even 18 yet and able to go it alone😭
@quasimatt this happened to me yesterday with my boyfriend who’s not american, he even ordered the sandwich by name.
the same thing applies for most chinese restaurants like they don’t have half the stuff on there
this is how you know new york isn’t a real sports city bc people in philly will sign off work emails with “go birds” in the middle of the offseason after a first round exit
@kgreifeld there was 2 women selling NJ or nowhere/HB hats along washington st yesterday, i didn’t get the chance to stop but would buy if i saw them again
@Beebz05 parents who should’ve just focused on their careers instead of having kids for instagram are annoyed they have to take of 2 hours from work to attend. Kindie grad has been a thing forever, it’s sweet and a fun celebration of a milestone
whenever the low salary discourse comes up it always leaves out native ny-ers. people still live “at home” have rent controlled apts, have houses in the boroughs that their parents owed for years and they commute in
Plenty of ppl can and do "make it work" in NYC on relatively low salaries. I think it can be so out of touch and almost rude for people to act like it's impossible. That doesn't negate the fact that many ppl are wildly underpaid, especially given the COL.
