The GM of @AltaSkiArea said they'll fund where gondola lands, but didn't say they'd help w/ overall project.

As for the criticism it's only for resorts?

"It's really a service for the public ... It's no different than someone saying, I want to use Trax to go to the Jazz game."

Today @UDOTTRAFFIC picked a gondola to address Little Cottonwood Canyon traffic probs, but it's going to take years to actually happen.

In the meantime, the canyon will get an enhanced bus system & other improvements.

Opponents say it's a huge burden (estimated at $550 million) for the public, especially since it'll mainly serve private resorts. Plus they say it won't actually fix the traffic probs.

But the phased plans could be a silver lining, "Now it's in our hands to change our behavior.”
