@gamingthepast 3/ definitely had luck with some games though! ESP. Simulations done over a day or two with a dBrief with the class. Thanks for the book recommendation, will check it out. One book for you might be “play reconsidered”- Thomas S Hendricks, U of I press, 2006.

@gamingthepast 2/ the problem I had with brining in games into the classroom was making sure they aligned with learning / assessment targets I had. They could babe very engaging, but with a packed year also difficult to keep us moving through the span of time being taught.

@gamingthepast 1/ Completely agree with your distinctions! I had a gamified room where kids earned XP for assignments in 3 categories and chose “power ups” based on their XP level. It was great but def worked better with 6th than with 8th grade.

This is what we should & once did expect frm leaders in a republic after losing elections. Parents & teachers should show this clip, Gore's, Ford's,& Carter's concession clips (or other's from other republics) to offer proof of world Trump (& enablers) is trying to destroy.

I’m increasingly convinced that history majors are the only ones who can save us. The business majors have failed miserably. We need leaders who are capable of long-term thinking. History majors, rise! Your time has come!
