Phison Partners with $INTC to Launch AI PC Memory Expansion Technology
Phison announced a collaboration with Intel to integrate its Pascari aiDAPTIV memory expansion technology into the Intel AI PC platform, overcoming the traditional PC bottleneck of limited DRAM capacity and enabling AI PCs to run larger Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) models and Agentic AI applications locally.
Phison stated that aiDAPTIV leverages high-performance NAND Flash and DRAM working in tandem to establish a new AI memory architecture, reducing the system memory capacity requirements for large models. According to internal testing, a system equipped with aiDAPTIV can run a 26-billion-parameter (26B) AI model with just 16GB of DRAM; without this technology, 32GB of DRAM would be required to handle the same workload.
