We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sir Ben Helfgott, a remarkable man who made an indelible impact on all those who met him and worked with him. His lifelong dedication and outstanding achievements were truly inspiring
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Holocaust Survivor Sir Ben Helfgott MBE. He was an inspirational man who dedicated so much of his life to Holocaust Education and promoting tolerance and understanding. We are grateful for his support and our thoughts are with his family.
Very sad news. Sir Ben will remain a huge inspiration to all of us in the @HolocaustUK ambassador community. Will never forget his remarkable story and that he went on to represent Britain at the Olympics only years after he was liberated. What a man. 🙏🏽♥️

It is with huge sadness that we heard about the passing of Sir Ben Helfgott, a towering figure in the community & a passionate supporter of his fellow survivors - championing the cause of Holocaust remembrance & education. We send our sincerest condolences to Sir Ben’s family.
It is tragic to hear that Sir Ben Helfgott passed away this morning.
One of the first survivors I met, at an @HMD_UK youth day in 2016, Sir Ben's extraordinary life and commitment to helping us learn about the Holocaust made him an honour to know.
We will always remember him.
Holocaust survivor who represented Britain at the Olympics within years of his liberation from the Nazi camps went on to fight for his fellow survivors and was a key educator about the horrors

The thoughts of everyone at the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust are with his family and friends on this incredibly sad day.
"Sir Ben Helfgott was a giant amongst men. A Holocaust survivor, Olympic champion, campaigner, visionary and our leader. Despite all he endured, Ben taught us all about resilience, tolerance and the crucial importance of educating future generations."
The world has lost a shining light. We live in a better world because of the work that Sir Ben Helfgott, so bravely, did for Holocaust education.
A remarkable man who made a lasting impact on all those who met him.
