🇨🇳 China's Origin F1 "feels" like a human.
The humanoid robot's facial expressions are disturbingly realistic, blinking, reacting, and emoting on cue.
We spent years debating whether AI could think 👀
Everyone asks if Atlas can bring them a drink, but this robot can bring you the whole fridge. Using AI-driven behaviors, Atlas is doing hard work and coordinating its whole body to manage heavy objects, balancing complex contact points with accuracy and reliability.
Even seeing today’s 'primitive' state of AI and robotics and what they can already do, there’s no way the abundance/automation we’re talking about is far in the future. I was extremely conservative with those 15–20 years. In my opinion, it will happen much faster, during the 2030s.
What we’ve seen with coding, image/video generation will soon extend to all knowledge tasks and physical work.
wow
Making AI cheap is one of the biggest contributions AI company can make to the world.
DeepSeek has just announced
"Effective immediately, the price for input cache hits across the ENTIRE DeepSeek API series is reduced to just 1/10th of the original price! Build more efficiently for less"
This is exactly how AI goes mainstream. When costs drop this aggressively, especially for cached inputs, it opens massive scale for agents, apps, and automation.
This will change the world
We’re closer to an amazing future, one of post scarcity and abundance, where cancer and all diseases are curable, and aging itself will be cured.
In the past, the rapidly passing time could be a cause of depression; today, there is a future we can look forward to.
Work, as we know it, may no longer define our lives. Instead of spending most of our time earning a living, we may choose how to spend our time - creating, exploring, learning, and building. Education could become continuous and personalized. Healthcare will shift from reactive to fully preventive and regenerative. Technologies like gene editing, nanomedicine, and advanced diagnostics will allow us to detect and fix problems before they even manifest.
With AGI and advanced robotics, our economy will become vastly larger, and as a consequence, we will all be much wealthier, with standards of living that are incomparably better than today.
When survival is no longer the central struggle, meaning, creativity, and exploration will take its place.
The same passage of time that once created anxiety could become a source of excitement, because each year will bring breakthroughs that meaningfully improve human life.
We are not there yet, but the trajectory is becoming clearer.
