Alireza Sepahi got married in prison. The next day, the regime in Iran executed him.
He married Mahshad Kashani while facing a death sentence. They were denied even a final meeting as husband and wife. She is serving five years in prison. Now she must grieve her husband behind bars.
The Islamic Republic executed Alireza alongside another detained protester, Alireza Raeesi.
These were two people with families and futures. Remembering their names matters. So does holding those responsible for their deaths accountable.

@elonmusk
Dear Elon,
In these critical days, the people of Iran need internet access. Please help them stay connected as they struggle to reclaim their country from the rule of the mullahs. Stand with the Iranian people. Iran will not forget its friends.
@marklevinshow Mr. Mark Levin, please pay attention to Ali Javanmardi at VOA. While Iranians have no internet and rely on VOA, he is telling people inside Iran to ignore calls from abroad. His message contradicts President Trump. Please remove him from VOA. #firealijavanmardi
@marklevinshow pay attention to Ali Javanmardi at VOA.
When many Iranians have limited internet and rely on VOA, telling people inside Iran to ignore calls from abroad only helps isolate them and benefits the Iranian regime.
This must be investigated. He can’t remain at VOA.

🚨 BREAKING: Ali Javanmardi, head of the Persian service at Voice of America, told Iranians to ignore Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi’s call for the next phase of mobilization and not return to the streets.
Javanmardi—who claims to be speaking on behalf of the U.S. government—also accused an unnamed country of attacking Iran’s infrastructure, while deliberately avoiding any reference to Israel, and claimed that President Trump had intervened to stop such actions.
It should be noted that Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi’s call on January 8–9 led to the largest wave of protests in Iran’s history. Yet Voice of America refused to cover those demonstrations. Under Javanmardi’s leadership, the U.S. taxpayer-funded outlet has engaged in extensive censorship and repeated attacks against Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi—sparking widespread outrage among both Iranians and Iranian Americans.
