Barrister at Old Square Chambers specialising in stress at work claims, advising on tricky points of law... and being a bit argumentative. Views are my own
I’ve noticed that the UK seems to follow US trends and movements politically and times vice versa.
I don’t know if it’s because I am older and have more experience, but the world seems more hostile, divided and difficult than ever before.
Is it just me?
In case anyone’s interested, here’s an article about the duty of care in disciplinary proceedings following the High Courts decision in Woodhead v WTTV Ltd & Ors [2025] EWHC 1128 (KB).

It was privilege to be the House of Commons today for the Bullying Bill, spear headed by @conductchange. Can’t thank those involved enough for their hard work and the unwavering support of @RachelReevesMP. Was also super to see @LizMcG_emplaw. #weare7br
@LizKershawDJ Got to admire how you went from unbalanced sentencing to a totalitarian state there.
I see your point though and understand the sentiment.
It doesn’t really send the right message as in consistency?
@charles_forsyth@AdamWagner1 Get your point, and I agree with what @AdamWagner1 is saying.
It’s complicated and fact specific.
I have little profound or helpful to say other than it’s so textured in the wider context for any hard rule.
Even talking about it seems precarious. I don’t want to offend!
A hard case with complicated issues of fact and law.
It’s reassuring to see that with all that’s going on in the world, difficult cases like this are dealt with fairly and without bias by the courts https://t.co/UbnhBcf4HS
@benrainbow @EnglandRugby That would be great. I always listen and have found as I’ve gotten older, I sometimes have helpful things to say.
For example… @BrianODriscoll said “knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad”.
Just seen that England under 20s have won their World Cup! Amazing news.
Anyone know where one can watch the match back online @EnglandRugby?
I was in work till rather late and missed it (lame).
I hope those young men enjoy it. What an achievement.

@SimonScarrow @YouTube Is that happening already. I said to myself when I see the word Martyr I’ll get worried.
It’s probably already happened, I thought by mid week, that would be the narrative.
Seems to sum it all up way better than I can, and from a chap with knowledge of the issues.

Please tell me your thoughts?
I really really want to hear them as I’m at see here.
