Bwanji uko ba Tonse? Before the possibilities of a comeback get too loud in your minds, I just have a ka small arithmetic reminder:
NRPUP strongholds — Eastern, Luapula, Northern & Muchinga:
29/82 announced → 53 left (64.6%)
UPND strongholds — Southern, Western & North-Western:
8/74 announced → 66 left (89.2%)
So yes, keep hope alive😅..but just remember where the larger share of outstanding constituencies is sitting and manage your expectations.
Otherwise, it's still Game On!!
The surge in independent parliamentary candidates emerging victorious only shows how badly the UPND ignored the signals on the ground and, in some cases, prioritised the highest bidder over the people’s preferred candidates. They were warned, they ignored pa ground, now they have themselves to blame. They deserve those losses! They need to listen more to their people on the ground after this election, which they're of course wining 😅.
@Dumisanithole2 The drivers of these trends in results we've seen really leaves much to be desired. Just the thought that people considered a rebrand of a party that destroyed the countries economy to lead again, can not be ignored.
The math is clear:
Copperbelt + Luapula + Eastern + Northern + Muchinga Provinces = ~49% of registered voters.
Even if NRPUP got 100% in those regions they still wouldn't win. They have given up margin in their strongholds.
Lusaka has more or less remained balanced, and UPND's strongholds have been fortress level in margin protection.
CDF + Free Education + School Feeding + Social Cash Transfers have won the day.
@Liamskaonga I agree.
BM only campaigned for 3months, had 66 rallies most of them in the CB, Lsk, Est and urban Northern block. But surprisingly in rural Northern block his getting vote's better than HH even in places BM didn't visit. How does someone ignore this anomaly?
@Liamskaonga By the way Southern Province has law makers who hail from other regions and it's rare to find the same occurrence in other regions. It doesn't even exist.
@Liamskaonga HH over the past 5 years has grown popular in opposition turf Especially eastern northern and luapula
It’s the urban Copperbelt where he has gone down due to mostly Loadshedding ama issue ya gold etc
@EjayM13@Liamskaonga For case of matero how does one person declare themselves winner after calculating 50/105+ polling streams.
If these rigging show us video/picture evidence of manipulations since every stakeholder including NRPUP polling rep's take pictures of signed G20 forms after vote countin
@EjayM13@Liamskaonga You can't pin point to one area and be like people want change and other side object it to, no what they are doing is not right cause people in this other area want change. Take a sit and digest your analysis cause it's not it at all🤦♀️
