@randibergman Hard to say “the lowest”... let’s face it, she’s had some pretty lowwww moments. But it’s definitely up there... or down there as it were lol
It's...not comforting to see organizations that can make tangible structural and institutional changes post a black square in silence rather than acknowledging internal shortcomings and saying what they're going to do about it.
Unfortunate that I had to learn about the legacy of Foon Hay Lum, an 111-year-old activist for Chinese-Canadians, through her obituary. She died in a long-term care home and her family couldn't make one last visit.

That woman was 111-year-old Foon Hay Lum (no relation) and she was an advocate who fought for a formal apology and redress for the Canadian government's racist Chinese head tax and Exclusion Act policies
@RichardCrouse Great picks! Love the interview with Chastain. I haven’t seen the doc yet - intrigued. Another good companion piece for those films would be A Ghost Story
Thanks to everyone's help on this. I wrote about shoppers going to smaller food stores and restos-turned-grocers to support neighbourhood shops, avoid lines and yes, get yeast.

@RichardCrouse Recently saw Fran as a talking head in the doc “The Booksellers” at TIFF Bell Lightbox, right before everything got shut down. She is such a true New Yorker, through and through.
@RichardCrouse I loved Reel to Real! Watched it all the time. Was always so happy and proud that Toronto had its own version of Siskel and Ebert 🎥 🍿 ⭐️
