Standing together today was a powerful reminder of what cannot be ignored: our commitment to Ukraine and our clear rejection of Russia’s ongoing aggression. We stood with Ukraine since the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and we will stand with Ukraine now for as long as it takes.

🇷🇴 Congresul USR 2026 - acasă, la Sibiu, la 10 ani de USR

📢 În deschiderea Congresului am spus că în timp ce aici, în România, USR își asumă responsabilitatea unei guvernări chinuitor de complexe, la Bruxelles se desenează practic harta financiară a următorului deceniu. Pentru că în noul context pentru România, întrebarea nu mai este dacă putem supraviețui în Uniunea Europeană, borna aceasta a fost depășită, ci dacă România este gata să își asume un rol de lider în Uniunea Europeană.

✅ Viziunea USR legată de Europa este una foarte pragmatică, deoarece reformele pentru implementarea cărora Dominic Fritz, Radu Miruță, Diana Buzoianu, Oana Țoiu și Irineu Darău luptă sunt, într-un fel, acel „golden ticket” ➡️ permisul de acces al României pentru un rol central în inima Europei. România nu mai este doar o țară de frontieră, devenim un foarte necesar pol de stabilitate și o linie de rezistență pentru păstrarea modului de viață european.

Am mare încredere în echipa USR şi cred că e datoria noastră să continuăm această construcție. O facem pentru ca noi și copiii noștri să putem spune, mai curând decât mai târziu, că suntem cu adevărat fericiți în România.

Un autogol strategic: Cum a ratat Parlamentul European șansa Mercosur și a făcut un cadou Chinei

1️⃣ Contextul: O victorie pentru competitorii globali

Decizia Parlamentului European de a trimite acordul cu Mercosur la Curtea de Justiție a UE nu este doar o amânare birocratică de cel puțin un an, ci o eroare geostrategică. Această mișcare reprezintă o veste excelentă pentru marile puteri concurente, în special pentru China. Practic, Beijingul a primit cadou timpul necesar pentru a-și consolida poziția pe uriașa piață sud-americană, în detrimentul Europei. Într-un moment în care UE trebuia să răspundă cu eleganță strategică provocărilor globale (inclusiv mesajelor de la Davos ale președintelui Trump), Parlamentul a ales să se blocheze în proceduri.

2️⃣ Realitatea economică vs. Mitul agricol

Refuzul acestui acord ignoră o realitate economică dură: Uniunea Europeană, tot mai sufocată, are nevoie de „plămânul” unei piețe de liber schimb cu 700 de milioane de consumatori.
Argumentele care folosesc agricultura drept scut sunt false:
➡️ Impact neglijabil: Importurile fără taxe vamale ar reprezenta doar 1,6% din consumul de carne de vită și 1,4% din cel de pasăre al UE (echivalentul a două fripturi per cetățean anual). Aceste cote nu amenință fermele europene.
➡️ Țap ispășitor: Mercosur este folosit ca o „supapă” retorică pentru nemulțumirile fermierilor, cauzate de fapt de probleme interne ale Politicii Agricole Comune, nu de comerțul internațional.

3️⃣ Miza pentru România: Pierderi concrete
Pentru România, beneficiile ratate sunt evidente și cuantificabile.

✅ Exporturi: Doar în 2023, am exportat produse industriale de 176,5 milioane de euro către Mercosur, plătind taxe vamale de 47,4 milioane de euro. Acordul ar fi eliminat aceste taxe, crescând competitivitatea românească.
✅ Protecție: 15 produse românești cu indicație geografică ar fi fost protejate pe piețele sud-americane, standardele UE rămânând obligatorii.

4️⃣ Culisele politice: „Sindromul Brexit”

Votul de ieri a dezvăluit un Parlament European slăbit, cu o majoritate formată din extreme, dar validată, paradoxal, de grupuri pro-europene (PPE, S&D, Renew). Din discuțiile avute cu mai mulți europarlamentari, inclusiv români, reiese un tablou dezolant: mulți au votat „pentru” amânare strict din calcule electorale naționale („cafteala de acasă”), convinși fiind că acordul va trece oricum.

Realitatea i-a contrazis brutal: doar 6 voturi (din 669) au făcut diferența. Astăzi, mulți dintre ei resimt aceeași jenă ca după Brexit - conștientizarea faptului că un joc politic mărunt a dus la o boacănă istorică.

▶️ Concluzie

Așa se ratează oportunitățile în istorie: prin neînțelegerea mizelor mari și sacrificarea interesului strategic pe altarul micilor bătălii politice. Totuși, mergem mai departe.
