I didn't say it was - though there is an argument that it is under uti possidetis juris (look it up). But I support a two state solution. My point is that there is no Palestinian partner. Palestinians have not raised up a Mandela or Gandhi for leaders - they've raised up only Sinwars and Arafats. And that's no accident.

Your 3% is a number from the early 1800s, when the entire territory held about a quarter of a million people. It was an emptied Ottoman backwater, and Ottoman tax records say so. Jews were a plurality in Jerusalem by the 1870s, decades before the European immigration you're blaming. Safed, Tiberias and Hebron had unbroken Jewish communities the entire time. Nobody "arrived." Some came home.

There has never in history been a sovereign Arab Palestinian state. Not one. Not under the Ottomans, not under the British, not for a single day. Partition offered the Arabs sovereignty they had never once possessed, and they turned it down and invaded. Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League, said publicly what the war was for: a war of extermination and a momentous massacre. That is not self-defense.

In Haifa in April 1948, the Jewish authorities publicly appealed to the Arab population to stay. The British recorded it. The Arab Higher Committee told them to leave instead, on the promise they would return behind victorious armies. Those armies lost. Losing a war of annihilation you started is not a deed to the country.

Then the Arabs expelled 850,000 Jews from Baghdad, Cairo, Tripoli, Aleppo and Sanaa. Communities older than Islam, gone, property confiscated. Half of Israel's Jews descend from them. They didn't sail in from Europe. They were driven out of Arb capitals by violence and had exactly one place to go.

Now about that Chinese boat analogy. You're posting it from Boston. Nobody in your bio is indigenous to Massachusetts either. The difference is that Jews returning to Judea were returning to the only place they ever came from, which is more than your ancestors could say when they landed here. And the man on the cross in your avatar was a Jew from Judea. You've spent the afternoon arguing his people are foreign to it.

That's a laughable characterization. Jews were not late arrivals who showed up and demanded a piece of someone else’s country. Jewish people lived in that land continuously for more than three thousand years. Jerusalem, Hebron, Safed, and Tiberias were Jewish cities long before the imperial Arab conquests of the seventh century. Continuity of Jews in that land is the historic record. Israel is the Jewish homeland, where the Jewish people are from - like the Irish are from Ireland and the French are from France. The Hebrew people are from Israel.

The territory was never an independent Arab Palestinian state. It passed through Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Crusader, and Ottoman rule, then the British Mandate. Under the Ottomans and the British, the land was state land, absentee-owned, or thinly populated. Zionist settlement before 1948 was built overwhelmingly on legal purchase by absentee landlords - not on sudden confiscation of a finished nation. Much of the land was actually malaria-infested swampland and unarable. It's actually an amazing story to read how the Jews turned that land into thriving cities and centers of commerce - ironically drawing massive Arab migration (from Egypt, Syria, Lebanan, and Jordan) to the area in the early 20th century.

In 1947 the UN proposed partition based on population dispersion. The Jewish side accepted a state on a minority of the Mandate, including large stretches of desert. The Arab side received the vast majority of arable land but nonetheless rejected the plan and, the day Israel declared independence, five Arab armies invaded to wipe the Jews into the sea. That was the war. The displacements of 1948 happened inside it.

Calling that sequence “Jews arrived and pushed Arabs off land they had lived on for a thousand years” erases Jewish history, erases the legal purchases, erases that Arabs never had sovereignty to begin with, erases massive Arab migration to that are because of the economic boom, erases the rejected partition, and erases who started the war. Losing a war launched to abort another people’s independence does not rewrite the preceding three millennia. The accurate framing is that both Jews and Arabs have deep roots to that land and when the British Mandate was expiring, it was a contest between competing two nationalist movements - Jewish nationalism and Arab nationalism. Jewish nationalism allowed for peace and the side-by-side existence of a soverign Arab state. The Arab nationalism rejected any notion of Jewish self-determination and fought war after war to end it.

You clearly get your information from Chinese TikTok. The Nakba means “disaster” in Arabic. In 1948, Arabs (before they called themselves Palestinians) rejected the two state 1947 UN Partition Plan and when Israel accepted it and declared its independence in 1948, 5 Arab armies attacked Israel to wipe it off the map. Yes, the Arabs began an actual war of genocide and ethnic cleansing. But they lost. As a result of that war, about 750k Arabs were displaced (not killed, as you said). Again, they were displaced as a result of a war THEY STARTED. Because they lost the Arabs call it a disaster.

No genocide in history turned on an enemy that could end the fighting by surrendering and releasing hostages, on roughly two million tons of aid being facilitated to the same population, on that population’s rulers having opened the war with a massacre, or on civilians being warned beforehand by leaflets, phone calls, texts, maps, and roof knocks. Those are the habits of a military trying to separate fighters from noncombatants, not of a campaign designed to erase a people.

The casualty pattern points the same way. A civilian-to-combatant ratio under 3:1, against the 9:1 figure cited by the UN itself for urban war, is evidence of restraint under the worst conditions of modern combat: tunnels, human shields, and civilian infrastructure used as fortresses. Warnings and a comparatively low ratio do not make every death less tragic. They do make the accusation of genocide absolutely ridiculous, though.

John Spencer of West Point’s Modern War Institute and the High Level Military Group, a panel of senior NATO military officers and former commanders who embedded with the IDF, inspected targeting and aid procedures, and reviewed operational records, have categorically rejected the genocide charge. Blaming “Jews” for a state’s war against Hamas is also collective guilt. Graphic footage documents a ferocious urban war. It does not document genocide.

Rubin warns the trend goes beyond political disagreement: “Anti-Zionism is no longer one position among many in the Democratic Party. It has increasingly become the boundary marker separating the politically acceptable Jew from the politically suspect one.”

He says the objective is “a deliberate attempt to politically marginalize Jews” and ultimately weaken Jewish advocacy for Israel within the Democratic Party.

“The way it gets that done is by trying to intimidate Jews in the Democratic Party to be silent and afraid.”

His warning to Democrats: “No political party is healthy when it kicks out the Jews.”
