NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake is warning that Flock cameras are not just “crime‑fighting tools”; they are the backbone of a growing surveillance ecosystem designed to track the movements of ordinary citizens in real time.

By outsourcing this infrastructure to private companies, governments can sidestep constitutional limits and claim they’re merely “buying a product,” even as they gain full ability to monitor entire populations.

This network doesn’t stop at license plates. With technologies that can detect Bluetooth and other wireless signals, your car’s plate, your phone, your smartwatch, and other devices all become beacons.

Together, they feed into systems that can build detailed profiles of where you drive, who you visit, which events you attend, and how you move through your city. All data that can then be stored, queried, and shared far beyond your local police department.

@Thomas_Drake1 breaks down how these converging signals- license plate readers, Bluetooth and wireless transmissions, in‑vehicle communication systems, and more create a de facto tracking system on every American.

And when that system is run through private corporations instead of directly by government, it opens a dangerous backdoor: the unlimited power to quietly misuse this data, with far less oversight and far fewer constitutional protections than most people realize.

First of all no, we're not doing this. I do not answer DMs from a company that is trying to do damage control AFTER they have ruined the trust of Americans. I do not have "good faith" debates with people who want to enslave me in a fishbowl that they can monitor at all times.

Guess what guys: We don't actually have to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, or engage in "good faith" debates with bad actors. I don't have to justify my concerns about Flock to anyone. But since this condescension pissed me off, I will respond publicly, since Flock seems to want to keep our voices in the shadows and out of the public eye.

Note the argument:

"You see, King George specifically authorized quartering troops among you, I don't know what you're complaining about it's ALL LEGAL".

Well, golly gee guys, I guess it's all right then, they made it legal.

That's exactly the problem. Notice how nobody has a problem with standard security cameras. Public security cameras are not the problem...directly pumping the feed of every square inch of the country into a centralized federal database is one HELL of a problem and we must do everything within our rights as Americans to push back against efforts like this, if we are to have a future as a nation.

Flock, much like Palantir, took the decently good idea of improving security, and implemented it in the most cartoonishly evil way possible at nearly every single step. They are working directly for all levels of government....not the citizenry. They use subterfuge, legal technicalities, and every single trick in the book to put up hundreds of cameras every single day. They constantly mislead the public about what databases their sensors feed into, and who they sell the metadata to.

They have so little oversight that it's laughable, and ALL oversight involves the classic case of "we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing". Flock has been caught lying MANY times, and misleading the public regarding what their cameras actually do. Newsflash...they don't just read license plates.

They are also concealing which agencies purchase their data specifically so as to avoid getting warrants, and in doing so they have turned the ENTIRE COUNTRY into an open air prison....where THEY get to provide the intelligence data to those who enforce the laws as selectively as they please.

And their defense for doing so? "Aww look at the cute puppy we rescued" or "We arrested one guy using our camera network, we're so AWESOME".

You don't get to arrest one genuine criminal, and use that as justification to set up and entire Minority Report-esque surveillance system to surveil the entire country. You don't get to betray trust, and then be sad that people don't trust you. You don't get to cozy up to the boot of tyranny so much that you become the boot yourself, and then pretend to be just "one of the guys".

We will not fall for this gaslighting, no matter how hard they try.

For some reason, many people think that private companies can't be tyrants, which could not be further from the truth. At a certain point, a private company can be so heavily embedded within government, that they might as well BE the government. Except they are worse, because we don't even have the tiniest way to hold them accountable except for taking the billion-dollar company to court.

That's my problem with Flock, Palantir, and pretty much every single other defense contractor in existence. I will NOT accept every single facet of my life being monitored, just in case a criminal commits a crime somewhere near me. I will NOT live in "ze pod", no matter which politician is in power, and I will not accept a future where people like this will dictate to me what my country should be.

This is a photo of my grandparents when they first came to America.

They fled communist Romania and landed in New York with basically nothing.

My grandfather had $50 to feed his family.

He used it to start a hot dog stand.

I actually can't imagine the pressure he must have felt.

It's insane to me.

Not in some abstract history-book way but rather a very real, bloodline way.

He came here because America represented something that almost nowhere else did.

A place where you could be poor, unknown, foreign, scared, and still take a swing.

A place where your dream did not have to stay a dream.

A place where risk was not punished, but rewarded.

That is what America means to me.

The chance to come here, build something, raise your family, and give the next generation a life you could barely imagine for yourself.

250 years of America today.

France raised me. Gave me my love of beauty, of community, of revolution itself.

America freed me.

It taught me to dream big and fail bigger. That failure isn’t the price of ambition, it’s the tuition.

After 15 years in the US, I went back to France to build. Gave it 3 years. Then I flew straight back to San Francisco. My gut knew: this is where you build.

France gave me my soul. America gave me my shot.

And yes, America has flaws. But that’s by design. This country experiments faster than anywhere on earth, and some experiments fail. That’s not weakness. That’s America paying its own tuition. It’s how it finds the right answers first, again and again, for 250 years.

People still cross oceans to get here. I was one of them.

As a Korean immigrant, today on her 250th birthday, I reflect on the greatness and excellence of America. Not the deracinated, borderless version peddled by globalists, but the real America of Washington, Jefferson, and the hardy stock who built her from Plymouth Rock to the Pacific.

America was not built by abstract ideas or “propositions” for the world. She was forged in blood, faith, and steel by European Christian settlers who tamed a wilderness, declared independence under God, and secured the blessings of liberty for themselves and their posterity. From the Mayflower to the Revolution, through two World Wars, and being a shining beacon on a hill, this is a people and a heritage worth preserving.

I love America not because she is a hotel for every tribe on earth, but because she is a real nation rooted in the Anglo-Protestant tradition, ordered liberty, family, church, and the rule of law. As an immigrant and naturalized citizen, I know my place: a grateful guest and defender of what the Founders intended, not a re-maker of it. True patriotism means rejecting lies that tarnish her identity, restoring her culture, and ensuring her posterity inherits what their fathers wrought.

To the historic American people, your courage, ingenuity, and unapologetic love for your own, happy 250th. What an exceptional heritage you have. One of the craziest things about homeschooling is realizing how much of the school day is fake.

I was a classroom teacher for 20 years.

99% of the time in the classroom is spent correcting kids, waiting for the class to calm down, and giving procedures.

And then when they finally get to the work, it's is busy work and test prep.

None of it is real education.

Your kid can learn more in two focused hours at home than he learns in seven hours inside the government school machine.

And then he gets his childhood back.
