@ClayTravis The argument I’ve heard is that Ronaldo’s is different bc it wasn’t for a red “during” the WC finals. But to me that’s a hollow distinction with no meaningful difference.
@KylePorterNS Plus we know Phoenix can handle going up against the Super Bowl, so it would enable them to start the season the week before at Torrey (during the non-football week) and get high ratings / reduce pre- Masters pileup
@brauf33@basket_review Agree that Texas being that high is a surprise and doesn’t fit the eye test. Kudos to Roy Williams for being one of the only blue bloods who was willing to play Gonzaga at The Kennel.
@FreddyLA7 Thank you, Freddy for the great service you’ve done for Americans by simply reminding us of the wonders and beauty (and weirdness, but in a good way) surrounding us every day in our own country. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
@statsbywill First time I believed a 16 would do it was when 89 ETSU (Mr. Jennings) had the lead and the ball with 2:20 to go vs. Oklahoma before ultimately losing by 1.
Princeton 89 and Murray St. (Popeye Jones!) 90 also achingly close but don’t recall feeling they’d actually win.
@MattNorlander They don’t need a committee at all - a mix of WAB/Ken Pom/Torvik would do fine, and Dan Gavitt/computer could do bracketing. Truth is the Committee is the most fun thing these guys get to do. Why give that up just bc they aren’t BB experts?
@brauf33 Not really. He diagnosed the problem but his “solutions” are childish wish-casting. Until there’s federal legislation, any “rule” the NCAA tries to impose to limit $$ will be defeated in court as an antitrust violation.
