Thank you @unescobangkok for giving me this opportunity during my internship!🤓
@HanaAyoob Yup. Its deffo a full time job. You get a masters in multitasking and a PhD in advocating for yourself whilst learning to work and rest productively. Yep, peeps, resting is productive. Y'all should try it.
@ZJAyres@DrJenGunter Also this keeps feeding the myth that menstrual blood is dirty, shameful and something to be hiden. I understand some may feel that way as we were raised in a world that taught us this, but the tide is changing people!
@tacriona I am so sorry you had to wait this long for a diagnosis. And I get you: medical gaslighting makes chronically ill life so much worse. I can relate. Wishing you all the best with your surgery x 🤞
"The decision about whether to disclose or to hide a condition is an act of self-preservation, information control and impression management – thus it is identity work" says @ncjbrown in the @UCLpress book #AbleismInAcademia. Free to download from here: https://t.co/g6eK3EIKlR
@LucyPasha@uclh Sorry to hear this is happening. All the more reasons to wish people stay at safely at home->the numbers of infection get down-> NHS staff gets a breather -> all patients and expectant mothers access care in the best possible conditions again. 💛
Hospitals being at capacity also means that chronically ill & disabled people are unable to access regular treatment - a lot of which keeps us alive, out of pain, and is v imp. My appointments were all cancelled from March to Oct and started again in Nov, now back to cancelled.
One more amazing episode by @LucyPasha, this time tackeling #endometriosis and how badly it impacts one's life in every aspect. Big highlight on how one has to fight to get proper care, and how worse it is for #BlackPeople
Thanks for raising awereness !
