Driving with underinflated or overinflated tyres can adversely affect your braking distance, steering, fuel efficiency and the lifetime of your tyres. @Brakecharity@deptinfra@roadtozero
October is Tyre Safety Month
If you have a flat tyre, stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Only attempt to change the tyre if you can do so without putting yourself or others at risk.
Bikers, always expect the unexpected. Read the warning signs, look out for hazards ahead and remember: when the risk goes up, the speed goes down! #BikeSafe#PSNI#KeepingPeopleSafe
As the new term begins, remember to slow down when approaching schools.
And be aware of children walking and cycling to school, perhaps negotiating traffic for the first time.
TAXI SERVICES SURVEY: 2 WEEKS TO GO - The Department is seeking views from older people and those with disabilities regarding taxi services in Northern Ireland. It takes just 10 minutes to complete at https://t.co/mMgT8RwBt3
We all share the road - knowing and understanding one another's point of view; and the actions we take, and why, is important.

Delighted to announce our chosen charity for this year is Foyle Search and Rescue. They have been a support for the city since 1993 and provide crucial assistance for those entering the river and their families. We will keep you updated on our fundraising activities very soon
Right Hand Bends:
Drivers & Riders - You should keep well to the left on right-hand bends. This will improve your view of the road and help avoid the risk of colliding with traffic approaching from the opposite direction.

Last year, 63 people lost their lives on Northern Ireland’s roads. Hundreds more were seriously injured. And taking risks on country roads caused a lot of that damage.
Risky driving catches up with you. #AllTheSignsAreThere

After the dry spell, the rain makes the roads become slippery.
Take extra care if you are driving today:
- Reduce your speed,
- Keep well back from the vehicle in front,
- Ensure your tyres are correct depth and pressure.
You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear.
If you are overtaking a number of slower-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past.
Planning to meet up with friends to watch the football?
Don’t be a killjoy by drinking and driving.
If you’re out and about - choose a taxi, a designated driver or public transport to get home.
It's never safe to drink and drive.
