Back in 1995, I had a giant box of duplicate photos, too much free time at IBM, and a theory that people can’t stand nothing.
So I invented Little Tommy.
He mailed strangers random photos and waited to see what stories came back.

The obvious answer was: some idiot mailed them junk photos.
Almost nobody landed there.
They made plots, clues, warnings, conspiracies, and one very disappointed fake child.

@educator4ever36@Herbzimmerman2 Never mind that this doesn't apply in this case. So now you have the 'educator' who is overly quick to excuse behavior. I have lived and worked in the neighborhoods that you are describing. And it is most definitely not an accurate description of all of the students or families.
@technolandy@IramiOF endlessly? In every class period of every day for an entire month? I can't imagine why people are searching for an alternative way to spend their children's lives.
I lived in the Philippines, met kids and families who dealt with 50 in a classroom, no tech, no SEL. Far fewer behavior problems than the US. I realized that there are hungry hordes waiting for spots that American kids waste. We should end compulsory education. If they don't want to learn, they can join the military or clean the community. Everyone contributes somehow.
@KyleArundel@feelsdesperate@claireforny It's admirable and preferable, isn't it? Imagine if all politicians couldn't help but speak their true feelings, even when they know it will cost them elections.
I don't think people want clowns like that, I do think they are starving for anyone in politics who tells the truth.
Nobody talks about the student who came ready to learn, sat through the disruption, said nothing, and fell further behind while every adult in the building focused on the one who made the most noise. She is still waiting for someone to notice she was there, too.

Naming a baby sounds sweet.
It is not.
It is negotiation with a hospital deadline. In our house, it is also foreign policy, psychological warfare, and letting the right person suggest the name I already wanted.
I much prefer a large tv to a projector. Flat screen large panels are so much better for visibility. I don't use it as a smartboard, but I do have a box light that i can draw on top of and that is pretty sweet. I don't know anyone who has a large screen who wants their projector back.

Economics & Finance is not about worksheets, hot takes, or getting rich.
It is whether a young adult can handle real money decisions without getting trapped by debt, paperwork, sales pressure, or institutions that profit from confusion.
@Bud718@iamisla_ Weird, I've had sick time since I started working salaried jobs in the 80s. Didn't realize i was so lucky. Or is it that you don't know what revisionist means?
@Cartermill65675@iamisla_ And how many people do you think will be working alongside of you at this shitty company. Not everyone is so without options that they take any shitty job from any shitty company and still be happy about it. You are unique in this way, sunshine.
@TolentinoTeach The tools didn't make anyone cheat. That is weak. The students decided that they would use the tools to cheat. That is a human failure.
