Pastors who neglect church history often end up rediscovering old errors under new names. Scripture itself shows the value of remembering, learning, and holding fast to what has been faithfully handed down.
1 Corinthians 10:11
“Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.”
The church is also called to guard sound doctrine and not drift into new or distorted teachings.
2 Timothy 1:13–14
“Hold on to the example of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.”
History helps pastors recognize patterns of error and faithfulness—what led to confusion, and what preserved truth.
At the same time, the authority is not history itself, but the Word of God.
The pastor who does not know the mistakes and heresies of church history inevitably repeats them.
Every pastor should study church history, especially the major controversies and the development of the creeds & confessions that came as a result.

@farmingandJesus@D_B_Harrison A severe lack of prayer is also a probable cause. Not spending time with the perfect Holy One, and you will not reflect His character, not drawing near to Him is a serious flaw in the average Christian's life.
“Choose this day whom you will serve.”
These words from Joshua were ringing in my heart this morning. Who are we aiming to please, God or man?
It’s decision time.
"An N-95 mask filters out particulate matter larger than .3 microns. So the question then is how big is a COVID particle. A COVID particle is about .1 micron....this idea of people doing anything particularly useful w...a mask is just LOONEY TUNES." - Sen. Dr. Scott Jenson, M.D.
In 2018,
- 5.6 million men were arrested
- 2.1 million women were arrested
- 940 men were killed by police
- 52 women were killed by police
Since disparities automatically equal bias, that means that police hate men. End of discussion.
It's the only logical conclusion.
What you must believe, June 2020:
• The WWII Allies were Antifa
• Riots are peaceful
• Viruses kill you in church but not in street protests
• Police make cities less safe
• Senility in a presidential candidate is fine
• US Senators should not be allowed to publish op-eds
