Pilot cancels flight due to safety concerns: "im not feeling it"

A pilot canceled an American Airlines flight for one simple, brutally honest reason: “I’m not feeling it.”

No dramatic engine failure. No weather chaos. No cryptic announcement full of airline jargon. Just a human being in the cockpit recognizing that something felt off—and choosing safety over schedule, pressure, or convenience.

In an industry where delays spark outrage and cancellations trigger viral meltdowns, this moment is a reminder of what we actually want from the person flying a metal tube at 35,000 feet: self-awareness, caution, and the confidence to say no.

Because “not feeling it” isn’t laziness—it’s intuition, experience, and responsibility speaking up before a problem has a chance to exist. We praise pilots for handling emergencies, but maybe we should praise them just as much for preventing one.

So yeah, the flight didn’t take off. Plans were delayed. People were annoyed.

But everyone walked away safe.

And honestly? That’s exactly the kind of energy you want in the cockpit. ✈️

If Pete Hegseth, the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in our country’s history, thinks he can intimidate me with a censure or threats to demote me or prosecute me, he still doesn’t get it. I will fight this with everything I’ve got — not for myself, but to send a message back that Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump don’t get to decide what Americans in this country get to say about their government.

They managed to cut it in HALF from yesterday and added near-zero cancellations beyond the mandate.
