50 WordPress sites on one 16GB VPS. Three months in: 11GB RAM, 30% CPU. Nothing was tight.
So he asked the only question left — is NVMe real, or placebo?
It's real, but only in one place: wp-admin. The frontend is cached, so the disk sits idle. The admin panel isn't — every click is PHP, MySQL and hundreds of small reads.
Someone at ~60 sites moved to an NVMe line and called it "sluggish to normal". Same cores, same RAM, only the disk changed.
Caveat: a lot of "NVMe" plans cap IOPS low enough to make the label meaningless. Ask for the number.
We run NVMe on every LightNode instance — 40+ locations, hourly billing. Test it on one client before you commit.
Which is why "NVMe" gets oversold, and still matters.
When you start taking these on, the first thing you need is somewhere to put them.
LightNode: NVMe VPS in 40+ locations, hourly billing, live in about a minute.
One box per client, sized to real traffic, no annual commitment.
Boring part, handled.
Oracle is shutting down GloriaFood in 2027 — the free ordering platform thousands of small restaurants rely on.
Officially there are two dates going around: March 31 and April 30.
Either way, a lot of restaurant owners are about to go shopping for a new ordering system.
Timing note: migrations like this take months, not weekends.
Most restaurants won't wait until April 2027 to move. They'll start looking roughly 6–9 months out, right around when their POS or booking vendor starts calling.
The window to be the person they find is now-ish.
New accounts get a random first top-up bonus, up to $15.
Enough to spin up one of the edge locations for a few days and actually test latency to your users instead of guessing.
No monthly lock-in. Stop it when you're done.
Need a VPS in Baghdad, Kathmandu, Yangon, Phnom Penh or Quito?
Most cloud providers don't have them. Or they do, but at a premium and with monthly commitments.
LightNode runs these locations at the same starting price as the usual ones — from $7.71/mo, billed hourly, up in about a minute.
40+ locations total. The unusual ones aren't the expensive ones.

More alerts don’t make a system safer — clearer signals do. 🔔📈
Before your next release, ask:
1. Would this alert change someone’s next action?
2. Can the on-call person see the affected user path?
3. Does it have an owner and a first check?
If the answer is “no,” it may be noise, not protection. Save this for your next alert review — and tell us: which alert do you trust most when things get busy?

The biggest coding agent in the world gives each cloud session 4 vCPU, 16GB of RAM, 30GB of disk, x86_64 Ubuntu.
A mid-size VPS. That's the whole working body of an agent, and the GPU only handles the thinking.
Of those numbers, only one can't be faked. Cores get sliced across a dozen tenants and nobody notices. Memory doesn't work that way. Whatever's loaded stays loaded until something frees it.
Sizing a box for agent work, pick the RAM first and count the cores second.

One $12 order and one five-year gigawatt contract cost the same sales call. Guess which one gets optimized.
What's left over: a box you rent for three weeks, in a city the big three round to zero.
40+ locations, hourly, from $7.71/mo. https://t.co/sg8BOkfvHc
On October 1, two companies made "running an agent" a subscription line item. One of them priced it at $50 a month.
@digitalocean launched Agent Droplets — $5 free trial, $50/mo Pro (15% usage discount), $200/mo Team (20% discount). Firecracker microVM isolation, memory, session storage, managed model inference (Kimi K3 / GLM 5.3), and governed access to 16,000+ tools. Unlimited agents. Unlimited seats.
It first appeared Sept 22 as DigitalOcean Managed Agents.
That same day, @Microsoft shipped Agent 365 GCC — agent discovery, Entra Agent ID, Purview data protection, Defender threat protection, and Intune device management, wrapped into a single FedRAMP High control plane.
Their version of "backing" is a compliance document.
Also this month, a third-party directory ranked 28 products under "AI Agent Hosting."
Top three: Antihost, DigitalOcean OpenClaw, Hostinger OpenClaw.
If the base layer is now a subscription, what's left to choose?

Sept 28 —@ManusAI gave @CueAgents their own phone numbers, emails, and wallets.
Everyone's watching the agent get smarter.
Nobody's watching where it lives.
An agent that dials a Cape Town clinic from a shared Virginia IP isn't a customer. It's a bot.
Identity is the headline. The address is the job.
Everyone's debating how smart Meta's Muse is.
Nobody's asking where it lives.
Answer: every user gets their own cloud VM. Own browser. Own storage. Your logins sit in a vault it can't even read.
That's the unlock. An agent that acts needs somewhere to act from.
Not a smarter model. A machine.
Pinged one of our nodes from 25 locations worldwide.
0% packet loss. Every single one — 4/4.
The numbers that matter aren't the fastest. They're the steadiest:
Tokyo 109.6 / 109.7 / 109.9
Frankfurt 144.7 / 144.9 / 145.1
Jakarta 195.6 / 195.7 / 195.7
Under half a millisecond of jitter.
Fast is easy to buy. Stable isn't.
Most security checklists you can work through from your laptop. "Test as an untrusted user" is the one item you can't.
You built it, you're on its network, you hold its credentials. From inside, everything looks right — which is why it proves nothing.
Rent a machine with a different IP. Hit your admin routes with no cookie, push signup past its rate limit, read your own error pages from outside.
$0.012/hour, delete it when you're done.

RAM is the new Gold in this AI Age
A 64GB server memory module went from about $450 to over $900 in one quarter this year.
Rent by the hour and it's cents.
$0.012/hr, no monthly contract. Stop the machine, the meter stops.
