Tetsuya Nomura said he had a friend in high school complain about about character being ugly in a game they were playing. From that moment, Nomura was like "I want to create characters who are good looking" and thats been his mindset ever since. Bro is actually a legend.
Tetsuya Nomura says he is currently making Kingdom Hearts 4 with the intention of it being a story that is heading towards the series' conclusion.
He says he only has a few year left until he retires and it has become a thing of whether he will retire first or the series will be concluded first.

Nomura on "resetting the story" in Kingdom Hearts IV:
"For those who know how KH3 ends, the reason why Sora ends up like that in the ending is because we wanted to reset the story in a way. This should make it even easier for newcomers to join the story starting from KH4.
Fans of the Kingdom Hearts series will also be able to feel like "oh so it's THIS," but we're making this game with the hopes that new players can enjoy it as well."
