@aodanhill@ferniator Scottish Nationalists are not arguing for a federal UK though, why? Why wasn't that a point of concern in the 90s where devolution was done? It probably would've been a better deal for the English too.
the classic Egyptian born American citizen studying abroad in Czechia deciding to burn down a warehouse supplying Ukraine in order to support Palestine because a Russian told them it would hurt Israel
Useful idiots
I don’t object to a graduate tax.
I object to a one-way intergenerational transfer where graduates fund triple-locked pensions, universal winter fuel payments and a homeowner veto on housing & infrastructure as well as overregulation driving up the cost of living for us all.
Fix that, and I’ll pay up.
Until then, no thanks. I’m not subsidising a lifestyle my generation is locked out of.
@seraphel_@kentucky_kiwi *OR libdem are considered traitors for their 2010 coalition. None of these parties get headlines the public care about. Working class people see less people speaking English on trains, a mosque being built, grooming gangs and automatically think the rightest wing party'll fix it!
@seraphel_@kentucky_kiwi It's because both parties have taken turns forever and none of them have enacted upon public will in the last 50 years. Greens have a terrible foreign and energy policy but have middle class social policy, libdem are too small to be considered for gov. Then enter nationalists
@schrondonowitz I was taught it was pronounced originally "Liev(lerv)-tenant" likely due to misreading a u as a v, the association of 'loo' with toilet also likely has something to do with it. From here "Leuv" evolved into "Lef" when people spoke fast or with the regional accents of England.
There's no other part of the public sector we think its acceptable to fund by using taxpayers' money and Klarna's business model to sell unconditional, bankruptcy-immune mortgages to teenagers, hard to see why universities deserve to be an exception.

If there's one thing I've learned from streaming, it's that the best jokes are the ones you can't explain. Like why is there a banana in my fridge? Where did it come from? Who put it there? And why does it keep singing "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas?
