Sun times in London on longest day of the year
Sunrise of 05:43 and sunset at 22:21 would be infinitely better for:
The economy, reducing crime, transport, outdoor events, health, etc etc etc...

Happy #SummerSolstice2022!
Sunset 22:03 in Edinburgh, 21:21 in London. In both locations it will be light enough to read a book outdoors by about 04:15 tomorrow.
Why not push that back an hour so the UK can enjoy light, late evenings?
#Lighterlater
That time of year again, when the UK needlessly plunges itself into mid-afternoon sunsets. 🌇

Beautiful #sunrise trending on Twitter this morning.
The question is, wouldn’t it make sense to push it an hour later to avoid #sunset before any of us have even finished work?
Unequivocally, yes.

Just one day for @10DowningStreet and @RishiSunak to cancel the clock change!
Here's why it will hugely benefit the whole of the UK: https://t.co/WOEDzB6faB
Sunrise and sunset times in London tomorrow as #clocksgoback
Utterly ridiculous- dark before 5pm and still 2 months to go to the solstice.
#Lighterlater
At the #SummerSolstice the sun sets 10 minutes earlier on Gibraltar street in Sheffield than it does on The Rock itself- despite a day which is 2 hours and 23 minutes longer!
Time to go #Lighterlater to use our generous summer days during waking hours!

Daylight differences across the country for last night's #ClapForCarers clearly illustrates how BST disadvantages our most populous regions.
It was lighter at 5:50 am in the SE, when most are sleeping.

Only mid April and early birds already rewarded with sunrise before 6am
But a light evening on the patio? Forget it. 🌇
Time to go #Lighterlater#ScrapGMT
The days are now more than long enough for light either side of the working day
Bonkers having broad daylight at 6:30am but darkness on the journey home
#GMT: a gift to criminals and threat to commuters.
Time to go #Lighterlater!
Taking typical home time as 5:30pm, number of weeks a year in which workers leave for home in the dark:
🇫🇷 Paris: 11
🇨🇦 Calgary: 13
🇮🇸 Reykjavik: 14
🇬🇧 London: 17. 🤦♂️
Time to end this depressing madness and go #Lighterlater!
