To everyone who helped bring the Obama Presidential Center to life, thank you. Michelle and I are so grateful for all your dedication and hard work over the years.
I got a little teary-eyed tonight thinking about my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson.
I’m astounded how many men seem to feel like sex is only about sex.
If you don’t care about connection, why not just masturbate? If it’s just about stimulation, why not have sex with a man?
The level of dissociation required to turn sex into just a physical act like picking your nose, and then idiosyncratically expect someone else to do it for you boggles my mind.
Did I break something in my psyche and I’m functionally an alien, or are these men as out of touch with themselves as they seem to me?
What am I missing here?
@AngelJonesPhD And almost all these lynchings are going unpunished. I believe there have been multiple reports of hangings from trees in the last few years.
You will never convince me that a Black child found hanging from a tree was suicide…especially when it took them 11 days to find her but no one saw her there on days 1-10.
Aaron Tucker had been out of prison for seven days. He had less than $2 in his pocket and one shot at turning his life around, a job interview that morning. Then he saw a car flip over and catch fire from his bus window.
He asked the bus driver if he was going to help. "No, but if you get out I'm going to leave," the driver replied. Tucker got out anyway.
He sprinted toward the upside-down, smoke-filled car and found the 61-year-old driver covered in blood.
He unbuckled the man's seatbelt and dragged him clear as the car started to catch fire.
He pulled off his own dress shirt and used it to stop the man's head wound from bleeding, telling him: "You're going to be all right. Your family wants to see you. Keep your eyes open."
The bus left. Tucker missed his interview.
When the story got out, strangers set up a GoFundMe that raised over $50,000 in three days. He also received multiple job offers in construction.
"I feel like a job can come and go, but a life is a one-time thing," Tucker said. "The job just wasn't in my mind at that time."
Idk why I never thought about those who were enslaved having to make their own chains. Being a skilled smith and having to use your talents to forge what restrained your people smh my goodness. Tiffany Momon’s lecture gave me a lot to think about
This is shameful and beneath the dignity of our Armed Forces. General Daniel “Chappie” James Jr.—the first Black four-star general, a Tuskegee Airman who flew 179 combat missions in two wars, a man who stared down racism and communism with equal courage—had his portrait removed from the Pentagon under Pete Hegseth.

A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…
It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.
You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.
If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.
It is “due course”, not “do course”.
“Per se”, not “per say”.
And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.
Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.
This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙
Our @MBK_Alliance Ambassadors are examples of the outstanding young people we’ve been proud to support at the @ObamaFoundation over the years. We hope the Obama Presidential Center inspires even more.
The smarter women are, the more hostility they face.
In the U.S. & China, the higher women’s IQs, the less they're liked—and the more they’re undermined by coworkers. Men pay no price for being bright.
It's long past time to recognize female intellect as an asset, not a threat.
