This has been entirely predictable for a decade. However, despite intensive training, even the most elite of leadership teams would struggle when their attention is forced onto definiing a woman, whether or not the knee should be taken before kick off, the harm caused by gas boilers and cow flatulence and the need to learn a few bits of the Koran. Few of our great historical leaders would have been able to see the bigger picture when faced with these complexities, let alone the current bunch of bananas who only had a comprehensive education to fall back on.
@DanNeidle Pension related? Once you've maxed out on pension contributions do you really want to be paying highest rate income tax. Picks up again as business owners come to retirement and start paying out what they would otherwise have taken earlier in their careers?
@FewtonNaulkner@afneil What about the 4400 millionaires he’s created, the taxes they pay, the people they will employ through their wealth. You’re just a typical advocate of lowest common denominator policies where you and people like you call the shots.
@DrChrisParry@hilarybennmp Perfect encapsulation of what most Brits feel without knowing why they feel it. It boils down to trust. Without trust we no longer work as a society.
@paulg Why is it an accident of history? It's the inevitable outcome of a common culture splitting at a fork around 20 years ago. The EU was never compatible with the culture that developed AI.
@afneil The unions and their socialist leaders damn near destroyed the country in the 70s. Their bullying and intimidation was endemic. A single shop steward could stop an entire factory over a superficial grievance. You had to see it to believe it.
"No, I don't subscribe to this 'kindness' - I'll tell the truth instead."
I spoke at the Cambridge Union last night about LGBs, children's safety and women's rights. Full video here:
@MaeveHalligan Thank you - the best speech I have heard in many years, from the heart but laser focused. If you never do anything else in public for the rest of your life, you will have done more than the great majority with this 10 minutes.
@afneil Mr Neil where do you find the energy to bat away these fools ? I can't imagine what your in box looks like. Have you thought of using Claude or Grok to auto reply so you can focus on writing your articles?
English law should stand above European law and international law unless the law in question is by its nature truly international; where international law subverts our cultural norms and laws it should be disregarded. Lawyers with foreign interests cannot undermine our national interests.
