UPDATE FROM #LOWER SHABELLE:

Four #Gorgor soldiers are reportedly missing after Al-Shabaab militants attack on their base at Buulo Naagey in the Lower Shabelle region on Wednesday when the militants raided the base.

Officers of the Biya Maal and sources at the AU mission both say the soldiers were likely taken hostage by Al-Shabaab.

Additionally, 9 rifles including two heavy machine guns are missing.

After the deadly attack on Wednesday and following an eight-hour fight, the Biya Maal fighters backed by Uganda soldiers of @aussom_ rescued many of the #Gorgor soldiers including their commander - a cousin to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
