🚨 A flash flood hit the Bhotekoshi River area in Gosainkunda, Rasuwa, Nepal 🇳🇵 today, destroying markets, homes, and hydropower infrastructure in Timure and Syabrubesi.

At least 8 people have been confirmed dead, and heavy casualties are feared as dozens of people—including local police personnel and customs officials—remain missing.

The raging waters have damaged six major hydropower and transmission facilities, wiping out roughly 12% of Nepal's national power capacity.

These visuals from the floods in Rasuwa, Nepal are absolutely horrific. The scale of the destruction looks unreal, almost like a scene from a disaster movie.The entire Himalayan belt needs to seriously work on better early warning systems for such flash floods. Prayers for everyone affected. 🙏
