Can someone explain to me who chose Andy Burnham to be British Prime Minister? He wasn’t even an MP. He was given a seat and being crowned immediately as PM. This is absolute proof that the electorate are of zero relevance in this country. Anyone who still believes Britain is a democracy is extremely naive.

@Gwynoro I think this is right - in the UK we want good public services but we don’t want the high taxation needed to pay for them. So the sums don’t add up.

I didn't join Labour out of tribal loyalty. I joined because Keir Starmer offered competence, stability & a route back from Tory chaos & a Brexit I've always regretted.

I'm left-leaning, not party-bound. If there's no continuity candidate, I struggle to see my future in Labour
