On the night of June 27, 2026, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia, utilising guided aerial bombs.
12 civilians were wounded, including 6 men, 3 women, a 17-year-old teenager, a 13-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old boy.
A 10-story residential building sustained damage.
The blast wave and debris also damaged other residential buildings, warehouses, and passenger cars.

Under the agreement signed in Washington between the Lebanese authorities and Israel with U.S. mediation, the Lebanese state, led by President Joseph Aoun, committed to refraining from filing complaints against Israel at the UN Security Council or pursuing legal action in international forums, regardless of future Israeli actions against Lebanon and its people.

At a time when Israel continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty, conduct military operations inside Lebanese territory, kill civilians, and destroy homes and infrastructure in violation of international law, such a commitment effectively provides Israel with political and legal protection from accountability.

By voluntarily renouncing its ability to seek justice through international institutions, the Lebanese state is not merely surrendering one of its most important diplomatic and legal tools, it is effectively helping shield Israel from international scrutiny and legal consequences while Lebanese civilians continue to bear the cost of ongoing attacks.

In practice, this means that no matter how severe the violation, no matter how many civilians are killed, and no matter how extensive the destruction inflicted upon Lebanon, the state has agreed to forgo the very mechanisms designed to defend its citizens’ rights and hold perpetrators accountable.
Rather than pursuing justice for Lebanese victims, it has chosen a path that facilitates Israel’s continued impunity on the international stage.

The Israeli military killed hundreds of people yesterday in unannounced and seemingly indiscriminate bombings of Beirut, a city of over 2mil people.

The new reality is that Israel's government has decided that it can unleash its terroristic violence anywhere in the Middle East. And that it assesses it will receive no consequences.

The hollow justifications about sovereignty, self-defense and state-capture that have kept so many silent on this precise conduct in Gaza don't apply here. Will Western governments speak now that these violent aggressions spread wherever Israel sees fit?

I am unaware of any Iranian cruise missile equipped with an airburst fusing mode. I am, moreover, extremely circumspect that a subsonic Iranian cruise missile would have been in flight heading toward Lamerd for the reported time of impact/detonation to be valid, given how the United States and Israel launched a surprise attack against Iran.
