They sre trying to stop a bill from giving all New Zealanders equal rights. It would eliminate racial prejudice under the law as the courts have interpreted an amendment to the treaty from the 1970’s as giving Māori more rights than any other race. This bill isn’t designed to take away their rights, it extends them to all New Zealanders. They don’t like that.
