My thoughts and prayers are with every child and family that has been affected by the E. coli outbreak in Calgary.
As of today, there have been a total of 190 lab-confirmed cases, with 27 patients receiving care in the hospital. Additionally, 7 patients have been discharged.
I want to express my gratitude to our exceptional frontline staff at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, the Peter Lougheed Centre, and South Health Campus. Each location now has a dedicated clinic to monitor symptomatic patients.
If you are concerned and start to see symptoms in yourself or your child, call 8-1-1. You can also get additional help and resources at https://t.co/BH79mpIXeA
2/ I want to thank the nurses, doctors, lab technicians, janitors for their hard work caring for these children. I recognize the immense strain that the health system is already under, and our government is committed to working with our provincial counterparts to help improve it.
1/ I’m thinking of the children and families who have been impacted by the ongoing E. Coli outbreak in #yyc. Our government stands ready to provide any necessary support and resources to the Alberta Government.
My Enmax bill total for June/July/August
2022 - $574.03
2023 - $1,164.84
Increase of 103% versus a year ago.
Carbon tax
2022 - $57.47
2023 - $64.49
It’s not the carbon tax that’s making life unaffordable. It’s the UCP and @ABDanielleSmith
A patient told me that each time she had major surgery, during the recovery period, her domestic abuse got worse in many ways.
This is a good lesson for all of us in medicine. One of the pre-op exam questions should be: do you have a safe place to recover after surgery? ❤️🩹
